Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform Chinese-character processing with efficiency by inputting "kana" (Japanese syllabary) direct in code such as a number by an input code assignment key when "kana" is converted into a Chinese character and then by registering it in a word file in RAM by a word registration key.
CONSTITUTION: With keyboard KB operated, an interrupt signal generated by keyboard KB is transmitted to CPU, through which various control is exercised in control memory ROM according to the control procedure. When information is input through the operation of "kana" key KB1, parts to be converted into a Chinese character are assigned for conversion while space codes are inserted before and after them. When the "kana"-to-Chinese character conversion is improssible, the information is output in "kana", but when this "kana" should be converted into a Chinese character, a character is input direct in code such as a number by input code assignment key KB3 and then registered in word file RAM6 in RAM by word registration key KB5. Consequently, the Chinese-character processing can be performed with efficiency.
