Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep the cooling capability of the cooling tower properly according to the load condition by changing a frequency of power feed to a speed-variable motor in accordance with the load condition of the cooling tower.
CONSTITUTION: A load condition signal (for example, temperature of returned water, temperataure difference, feed-water temperature, temperature of wet bulb at suction port) produced by the detecting means 7 is fed to the control device 8. A control signal from the control devide 8 is provided to the frequency converter 6 of the motor 4, the number of turns of the blower 3 driven by the motor 4 is adjusted in accordance with the load condition to make the cooling capability of the cooling tower optimum, and the cooling capability of the cooling tower is not used beyond what is necessary. consequently the power cost is drastically curtailed, and energy is conserved.
