Abstract

PURPOSE: To treat grout exhaust water using water glass to obtain harmless water simply as well as exonomically by adding a hardly soluble calcium containing substance discharging Ca++ and a flocculating agent.
CONSTITUTION: To total silicic acid component within exhaut water to be treated, a hardly soluble calcium containing substance (slaked lime, baked dolomite or the like) discharging Ca++ is added under a condition of pH above 8.5 so as to adjust CaO/SiO2 (mole ratio) of above 0.5 (pref. 1W4) and, subsequently, a flocculating agent (basic aluminum chloride, polyacrylamide or the like) is added to carry out the flocculating and precipitating treatment. When the pH of exhaust water treated as above described is high, the neutralization treatment can be easily carried out by introducing CO2 gas. By this method, the silicic acid concentration (as SiO2) within treated exhaust water can be easily lowered to below about 50ppm.
