Abstract
PURPOSE: Title composition that is composed of aggregates of acrylic polymer particles containing specific pigment particles and crosslinking catalyst particles uniformly dispersed inside the polymer particles, thus showing good painting and film- forming properties.
CONSTITUTION: (A) particles of pigment such as calcium carbonate, permanent yellow HR or other inorganic or organic pigment, that the surface-treated so as to improve the wetting property to acrylic monomer or its mixture such as acrylic or methacrylic acid or their alkyl esters and/or (B) particles of crosslinking catalyst such as dodecanedioic acid, which is surface-treated in the same manner as in the above pigment, are added preferably to an aqueous medium containing acrylic monomer and the suspension polymerization is carried out to disperse uniformly these pigment and catalyst inside the resin particles. The objective composition consists of the acrylic resin particles containing components (A) and (B) which are uniformly dispersed and fixed.
