Abstract
PURPOSE: To indicate a floating away of a light buoy by a method wherein ultrasonic signals transmitted from an ultrasonic signal generator located on the bottom of water positioned under a surface near a location of the light buoy can be received by a receiver situated at the light buoy and an alarm is given when the sensitivity becomes weaker than a given value.
CONSTITUTION: Signals transmitted from a signal generator 5 having a given strength are input to a submersible echo sound receiver 7 located at the bottom of a light buoy while the light buoy is kept positioned in a given place, the signals being sent to an ultrasonic receiver 17. Input signals amplified by the receiver 17 are transmitted to an alarm signal transmitter 20 through a pulse code discriminator 18. If a mooring cable 3 is broken or the light buoy 1 moves apart from the set position due to some cause, it causes the light buoy to become more distant from the signal generator 5, and as a result, the input signals become gradually weak. When the input strength of the signals become weaker than a given value, a hold of an alarm circuit included in the signal transmitted 20 is released, whereby alarm signals are outputed.
