Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the deviation of weld line in the weld penetration part and improve welding strength by deflecting an electron beam to the specified angle from the axial center of an electron beam gun and further deflecting this in the direction parallel to the axial direction of the gun.
CONSTITUTION: The electron beam B focused by a focus coil 2 is feflected to the specified angle α by a deflecting coil 3, after which this deflected electron beam B is feflected to the direction Y parallel to the axial center direction X of an electron beam gun 1 by a right-angle coil 5. By this method, the electron beam B may be radiated and charged from the direction Y perpendicular to the electron beam radiation part while being rotated in the circumferential direction of the work 4. Hence, the weld line deviation at the penetration end of the work 4 may be prevented and the weld strength of the weld zone improved.
