Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Sand cores C are inserted onto the respective pegs 121 of the core holder 12 positioned in the coating station S1 and their end parts are placed on core receiving rods 124 and this completes setting of the sand cores to be coated. Next, when air is supplied to a pneumatic cylinder 26, a coating solution tank 24 rises and the portions to be coated of the sand cores are dipped in the coating solution, by which stoveblacking solution is deposited only on the necessary surfaces C2. After the specified time, the coating solution tank 24 descends down to the position where it does not hinder the revolutions of a rotor 10. At this time, the excess coating solution forms the flow along the tilting surfaces because the coating surfaces C2 of the sand cores are slightly inclined, thereby falling down into the coating tank 24 from the ends C3. In this way, the dripping traces of the coating solution on the surfaces are not produced and no adverse influence is given to casting surfaces.
