Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the construction and reduce operation cost by a mechanism wherein a by-pass port provided in a cylinder is opened and shut by operating a valve using a driving means, so that full-load operation is carried out when the port is shut, while unloaded operation is executed when the port is opened, letting a taken cooling gas medium by-pass the port.
CONSTITUTION: A cooling gas medium taken from an intake pipe 3 is compressed by the rotation of a rotor 4 in the direction of an arrow and exhaused to a discharge opening. When an electromagnet 7 is not excited, a by-pass port 5 provided in a cylinder 2 at its inner surface to unload the volume desired is shut since a valve 9 is pushed down by a spring 8. With a simple construction like this, the cooling gas medium taken into the cylinder 2 through the intake pipe 3 by the rotation of the rotor 4 can be compressed with full-load operation. In addition, if the by-pass port 5 is opened by drawing the valve 9 while exciting the electromagnet 7, part of the cooling gas medium can be unloaded by sending it to the intake pipe 3 through a by- pass pipe 10.
