Abstract

PURPOSE: To control running speeds of recording media by providing a pulse forming circuit which forms pulses of a specified width from the input pulses reproduced at the frequency corresponding to the running speeds of the recording media.
CONSTITUTION: At the reproducing of a VTR, a control pulse (a) is reproduced from a magnetic tape and comes to the VTR. This control pulse (a) is applied to an integrating circuit 3 constituting a monostable multivibrator 2 and is converted to the pulse (b) having a fixed pulse width B. After this pulse (b) has been converted to a DC voltage, it is applied to the inversion input terminal of an operational amplifier 6 constituting a level comparator 5 and the non-inversion input terminal of an operational amplifier 7, respectively. When the tape having been high-density recorded at a slow tape running speed is reproduced at the tape running speed faster, e.g., 3 times than that at the recording, the output DC level of the integrating circuit 4 becomes lower as compared to that when the control pulse (a) of 30Hz has arrived at the input terminal 1.
