Abstract
PURPOSE:For improving cutting and grinding effect and increasing machining speed, to impress higher voltages than 50V between a wire and a work while supplying oil or higher specific resistance water than 10<3>OMEGAcm as working liquid to said wire and the work portion of said work. CONSTITUTION:Oil or higher specific resistance water than 10<3>OMEGAcm is supplied as working liquid to the work portion where a wire 1 and a work come in contact with each othere through a nozzle 16. In the meanwhile, an electric field with a high potential gradient is formed in a fine cutting clearance by impressing a voltage of 50V at least between said wire and said work 10 from a power source. Thereby, the split of the liquid in said clearance is completely eliminated by increasing the fluid strength of said liquid. Thus, sufficient working effect is developed by said working liquid and machining speed is increased.
