Abstract

PURPOSE: To coat a fluorescent film of uniform adhesive power, by uniformly projcting steam to the inside surface of a glass bulb whereon powder of fluorescent substance is coated.
CONSTITUTION: A sprayer 3 for projecting the fluorescent substance is inserted into the glass bulb 1. And electroconductive rod 5 is inserted into the sprayer 3. A wind regulator is attached to the tip of the electroconductive rod 5 outside the open end of a projecting tube 4 for the powder of the fluorescent substance and is connected to the cathode of an electrostatic power source 2. The bulb 1 is connected to the grounded anode of the power source 2. The bult 1 is rotated centering its axis and heated at a temperature of 150 to 200°C by a heater etc. so that the bulb is made electroconductive. Then, the powder of the fluorescent substance is projected through the projecting tube 4 of the sprayer 3 and charged by corona discharge from a discharge plate 7. Thereby, a fluorescent powder layer 8 is electrostatically produced on the inside surface of the bulb connected to the anode. Thereafter, the sparyer is pulled out and a steam projector 9 is inserted into the bulb. Steam is uniformly coated on the entire inside surface of the bulb through numerous projecting holes 12 of a steam projecting head 11, thereby increasing the binding force of the powder of the fluorescent substance.
