As a control circuit, a braking commutation control circuit 54, a power source phase detection circuit 56 and an angle γ setting delay circuit 7 are provided separately of the conventional control circuit. Thus, electromagnetic energy of the motor is reliably regenerated to the power source at the time of the power running, and electromagnetic energy of the motor and regenerative energy at the time of the brake running, so that stable regenerative braking can be obtained. Also, size reduction can be obtained by reducing the capacitance of a buffer capacitor 13.
