Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently read track numbers by selectively changing over the cases of controlling the scanner as the track number which the address signal indicates being correct, according to the moving speed of the scanner. CONSTITUTION:A comparator 10 compares the content of a memory 12 which stores the assigned address indicating a desired track number by a keyboard 11 and the content of a memory 6 which stores only the address signal of data and applies the signal corresponding to the address difference to a control circuit 13. The circuit 13 so transmits the control signal for moving a pickup 3 in the radius direction of a disc that it becomes faster when the address difference from the comparator 10 is larger and slower when it is smaller. Arrangement is so made that even if the contents of the memory and the memory 7 having stored data do not coincide with respect to a comparator 8, a gate 9 is opened while the circuit 13 is emitting the control signal. Hence, when the address number of the same track number is reproduced more than twice, the comparator 10 compares the same with the assigned address. Thereby, the track number may be efficiently read.
