Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a picture file by segmenting picture data in any region on a form, by detecting a region assignment pattern (marking in specific color) with a signal obtained from a photoelectric converting method which sense various wavelengths.
CONSTITUTION: When picture elements of form 1 are at a black level, the quantity of light reflected on photoelectric converters (sensor)35 and 36 is small, so that outputs of waveform shaping circuits 37 and 38 will be both at "L". When picture elements are at a white level, on the other hand, the blue component of the reflected light strikes sensor 35 (blue-pass filter 33) and the red components strikes sensor 36 (red-pass filter 34), so that circuits 37 and 38 both will generate their outputs at "H". At the time of reading a marking pattern of red elements, red light strikes sensor 36 after passing through filter 34, so that the output of circuit 38 will be at "H", but no light strikes sensor 35 since red light is stopped by blue-pass filter 33, so that the output of circuit 37 will be "L". Namely, it can be made possible to detect the marking pattern in distinction from other pictures by detecting that circuits 37 and 38 generate their outputs at "L" and "H" respectively.
