Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an X-ray pickup device which features a higher sensitivity than the electro-raiography as well as an easy conversion into visible picture images, by forming the X-ray image of the subject onto the photoconductive film in the form of a charge image and then reading out the charge image as a time-series electric signal.
CONSTITUTION: The X-rays given from X-ray source 19 are absorbed to the density and others of subject 20 and then enter X-ray converter 5 through container front panel 6. Most of the X-rays are absorbed via gas 18 of a high-voltage/high-atomic number in the device, and then gas 18 is ionized to produce ion pairs. At the same time, voltage 14 is applied to electrode 9 and 10 to perform gas amplification. Thus, a charge image is formed on photoconductive film 17 in proportion to the intensity of the incident X-rays. Light 24 given from light source 21 is put into a point 25 through micro-spot 22 to be scanned (23). As a result, the charge stored at point 25 flows to load resistance 13 through the low resistance component. In other words, the current flows to resistance 13 according to the charge distribution when the scanning is given, and the time-series electric signals are produced across resistance 13 in correspondence to the X-ray image to be amplified (15) and then to be led to recording unit 16
