Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an information recording element, which is excellent in durability, storage and freedom from air pollusion and from reduction in sensitivity and which is suitable for practical use, by forming a clearance either between the recording layer of heat mode and a protecting layer or between the recording layer and a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 1 is formed with a uniformly thick recording layer 2 of metal or the like which can thermally record information. The layer 2 is divided into multiple checkered sections. In order to form an effective recording region in each section, a protecting layer support frame 3 having a uniform thickness is formed between he respective sections of the effective recording regions while leaving the layer 2. A transparent protecting layer 5 having the same size as that of the substrate 1 is formed additionally, thus producing a microfish which is formed with a clearance between the layers 2 and 5 for each section.
