Abstract

PURPOSE: For easily removing the clog of a filter, to make said filter by contacting two porous bodies so that the effective filtration openings may be variable by aligning or shifting the filtration openings of said porous bodies with or from each other.
CONSTITUTION: This filter system is used in the waste liquid system of atomic power plants. The filtration holes 10 of an inner porous body 8 and the those 11 of an outer porous body 9 are somewhat shifted from each other. The size D of effective filtration holes is variable by rotating said porous body 8 by means of a motor 12 and a spring coupling 14. The sectional area of said effective filtration holes is determined small in accordance with the relative positions of said holes 10 and 11 in normal operation and becomes maximum since said holes 10 and 11 align each other during back-washing operation. Therefore, the dust 26 having not come out of the filtration hole of a filter 7 during normal operation readily come off during back-washing operation. Thus, clog can be easily eliminated.
