Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep each pressure container under the same conditions in terms of liquid temperature, pressure and capacity, and also to prevent an accidential wave by coupling together the vapor-phase and liquid-phase parts of each pressure container via pipes and by providing each pipe with an electromagnetic valve which operates by a differential pressure relay.
CONSTITUTION: During the normal operation, electromagnetic valve 14 is open even if insufficient thermal radiation of center condensing unit 7 causes the Flon-solution temperautre of pressure container 3 to become higher than the liquid temperature of any other container, they remain equalized in pressure and in liquid temperature since they are coupled together via pipes 10 to 14. With vapor-phase parts coupled via pipes 10 and 11, some of a refrigerant vapored in center container 3 is condensed by condensing units 6 and 8 in containers 2 and 4 at both the sides, so that the surface of the liquid in container 3 will fall. With only liquid-phase parts coupled together via pipes 12 and 13, the liquid in container 3 is forced to move into both containers 2 and 4, so that the liquid level will also fall. In this way, the liquid level is kept constant and the rectification arm will never be exposed to the vapor- phase part. If a difference in pressure with a normal container is made by accident, relay 15 operates to close electromagnetic valve 14, thereby releasing the pressure of the fault container.
