NEW MATERIAL:Antibiotic DC-11, which has the following physicochemical properties. Melting point: 225-228gC (decomposition); elemental analysis: H 6.9%, C 59%, N 2.0%; PMR spectrum (in CDCl3) (ppm): 9.62, 6.92, 5.87-2.26 (many peaks), 2.09, 1.82, 1.64, 1.60, 1.53, 1.36, 1.29, 1.27, 1.21, 1.18, 1.13, etc.
USE: Antibiotic having antifungal activity and anticarcinogenic activity.
PROCESS: Antibiotic DC-11-producing fungi belonging to Micromonospora genus, e.g. Micromonospora.SPKY 11091 (FERM-P No.4458), is cultured in a nutrient medium, and the accumulated DC-11 is collected from the medium.
