Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a soft magnetic material with high saturation magnetic flux density by mixing powder of a rare earth element cobalt magnet (R.Co magnet) with powder of pure iron or silicon steel as soft magnetic materials, followed by molding in a magnetic field, sintering and aging.
CONSTITUTION: Powder of an R.Co magnet is mixed with powder of one or more kinds of soft magnetic materials selected from pure iron, ferrosilicon, Alperm, Sendust, Permalloy, Permendur and pure Ni. The mixed powder is then molded in a magnetic field, sintered, and aged, or binded with an org. or inorg. binder. By this method, an R.Co magnet is obtd. which has superior magnetic characteristics as well as high saturation magnetic flux density hardly attainable in a conventional R.Co magnet.
