Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent high frequency from leaking externally downwardly of a high frequency electrodeless fluorescent lamp device for lighting via high frequency electromagnetic field by mounting a cover for transmitting light but shielding high frequency at a radiator.
CONSTITUTION: A high frequency electrodeless fluorescent lamp device consists of a fluorescent lamp 1, transparent or opaque cover 2 such as glass, a coil 5, an oscillator 6 for supplying high frequency output to the coil 5, a base 7 for supplying electric power to the oscillator 6 externally, and radiator 8 for reflecting light. A semi-spherical cover 9 made of, for example, metal mesh to shield high frequency but almost transmit light is provided to enclose the lamp 1 together with the radiator 8. Thus, the rediator 8 prevent high frequency from upwardly leaking, the cover 9 prevent it from leaking downwardly. Accordingly, it can almost prevent high frequency from leaking externally.
