Abstract
PURPOSE:To keep a sludge coagulation effect optimal, by measuring the organic substance content of a prescribed quantity of sludge and automatically varying the ratio of chemicals supply to the flow rate of the sludge depending on the organic substance content. CONSTITUTION:The flow rate of concentrated sludge from a sludge concentrator 1 is detected by a sludge flow rate detector 3 and applied to an operational controller 9. The concentrated sludge is extracted from a sludge concentration vessel 1 by a sampling pump 10 in each predetermined time. The organic substance content of the prescribed quantity of sludge is detected by an organic substance detector 11 and applied to the operational controller 9. The quantity of supplied chemicals to the extracted sludge and the concentrated sludge in the concentration vessel 1 is calculated on the basis of a chemicals supply quantity for the organic substance content of the prescribed quantity of sludge. The rotational frequency or travel of a chemicals supply pump 7 is controlled by a controller 9 so that the actual chemicals supply quantity detected by a chemicals supply quantity detector 6 is equal to the calculated chemicals supply quantity for the concentrated sludge.
