Abstract

PURPOSE: To lead uniformly light from a fine light source such as a lamp over the entire liquid-crystal display part with high efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: A degree of diffused reflection of diffused-reflection surface 14 at the top surface or reverse surface of photoconductor 14 is made small at part 14a near lamp 9 and increased as lamp 9 becomes away; and then, material 15 which diffuses light is provided between liquid-crystal cell 10 and photoconductor 14 in order to diffuse lamp light diffused uniformly over the entire display part, thereby obtaining soft illumination.
