Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the cooling capacity by decreasing the loss of refrigerant pressure by such a construction that an air-liquid separator is connected between the depressurizor and the dry type evaporator so as to supply only liquid refrigerant to the dry type evaporator and gas refrigerant to the compressor's suction side through a gas by-pass.
CONSTITUTION: The refrigerant of high temp. and high pressure gas discharged from the discharge hole 2 of a compressor is liquefied at a condenser, to be divided into gas refrigerant and liquid refrigerant through the throttling action of a depressurizer 5 and those two are separated by an air-liquid separator 6. Only liquid refrigerant shall be sent through a liquid suction tube 7 and a distributor 8 to the dry type evaporator 9, where it is to be gasified. It will join, in the refrigerant tube 3c, with the gas refrigerant which is separated at the air-liquid separator 6 and sent to the gas by-pass circuit 13, whereafter the mixture is sent back to the suction hole 10 of the compressor 1. Thus, the loss of refrigerant pressure in an evaporator can be decreased by supplying only liquid refrigerant to a dry type evaporator, contributing to improvement of the cooling capacity of a dry type evaporator.
