Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the thickening of the mixture and the deterioration in the running performance of the engine, by closing a carbureter rich valve and an exhaust return valve when a choke valve is operated at the time of starting under the cold atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: The carbureter rich valve 10 made of a valve element 16 fixed on a diaphragm 15 mixes fuel introduced from an inlet port 14 with air supplied from an air bleeder 13. The mixture is introduced into an litake pipe 3 through a passage 9. The intake pipe 3 is provided with the exhaust return valve 24 made of a valve element 28 fixed on a diaphragm 27. The exhaust return valve 24 regulates the quantity of returned exhaust gas. Negative pressure chambers 17, 29 of the valves 10, 24 are connected to a cleaner 2 through a two-way solenoid valve 31 and a switch 37, which is turned on when the choke valve 5 is closed.
