Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the lowering of detecting capacity due to the attachment of dust, by burying a light receiving portion of a photoelectric detector for detecting the fault of needle draw into a feeder board, and by covering an upper portion of the light receiving portion with a semi-permeable cover.
CONSTITUTION: A lateral needle 12a is mounted to a flank of a feeder board 20, and a light receiving element 38a detecting the locations of paper pieces 14, which are pressure contacted with the needle and which side locations are arranged, is buried near the lateral needle 12a. A semi-permeable coating portion material 40 covering the light receiving element 38a is mounted so that its surface be identical to a surface of the feeder board. The light receiving element 38a detects the locations of the paper pieces 14 by the quantity of receiving lights while using indoor lights as a light source, but the informations are processed by means of a computer in order to eliminate errors by the variation of the quantity of lights. Thus, the lowering of capacity due to dust can be prevented because a light receiving surface is rubbed by the paper pieces 14 all the time.
