Abstract

PURPOSE:A manual electrostatic powder coating device designed to control the powder output, amount of compressed air, and the width of spray pattern by trigger operation, comprising a trigger of a spray gun drivingly connected to a compressed air control valve for carrying the powder and a powder output control valve. CONSTITUTION:The output of the powder is changed by the automatic control of the number of revolutions of the motor 8 of the coating powder feeder 6 with the trigger pull 2 of the electrostatic powder spray gun 1 via a variable resistor and the control unit 5 drivingly connected to the output control valve 19. A proper amount of carrying air according to the output, automatically controlled by the d-c servo motor 8' of the reducing valve 7 for the air circuit via the control unit 5, is fed to the gun 1. The cut-off of the atomizing air by the operation of the air cut-off valve 4 feeds only the carrying air to give a rod-like pattern of powder. Narrow parts, e.g. hollows, can be readily coated.
