Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the diameter variation of an optical fiber by accomplishing the wire drawing of the optical fiber while maintaining laminar the gas flow on the outer peripheral surface of molten glass, which flows out of the nozzle of a crucible, by providing a gas introducing path between the crucible and a heating source.
