歯の脱灰を防ぐことができる。制酸剤は弱アルカリ性な
ので、口内および歯の表面・歯の間の酸性物質を中和
し,PH値が低い時間帯、つまり虫歯が発生可能な時間
帯を短縮して、虫歯の発生、進行を押える。本発明者
は、次のように考えた。 1.制酸剤を混入した歯みがき用ペースト状食品で歯を
みがけば、口腔内のPH値の低下は防げる筈であり、虫
歯が発生可能な時間帯は短縮される筈であり、虫歯の発
生・進行は押えられる筈である。 2.胃薬に使用されている制酸剤を混入した歯みがき用
ペースト状食品から、歯みがきの結果発生する混合唾液
は、飲込んでも人体に差支えない筈である。 3.2の結果で得られた、「制酸剤入り歯みがき用ペー
スト状食品」が「歯みがき用ペースト状食品」と同じ物
性、即ち、デンプンのりが急速に離水して混合唾液と
なる(急速な離水性)、歯ぶらしの上に乗せた場合、
流れださないように形を保つことができる(保形性)、
ハッカの風味をもつことができる(清涼味保持性)、
を有するならば、虫歯予防効果の上に、商品としての実
用性を持った、全く新しい歯みがき用のペースト状食品
