Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery charger for electric vehicle with which the battery of an electric automobile can be charged by only putting the vehicle into a garage and parking the vehicle at a prescribed position by utilizing electromagnetic induction, at charging of the battery. SOLUTION: A battery charger for electric vehicle is constituted of a cable used for obtaining AC power from a household power source, a sensor switch section which controls the supply of the AC power upon detecting that its own vehicle is parked at a prescribed position (does not supply the AC power to the charger, when the vehicle is not parked), a position correcting section which corrects the position of the vehicle to the prescribed position when the parking position of the vehicle is slightly deviated from the prescribed position, and a coil section which generates a magnetic force upon receiving the AC power. In vehicle parking, the battery charger receives the magnetic force generated from the coil section of a device installed to the parking lot, converts the AC power generated by the principle of electromagnetic induction into a DC power and supplies the DC power to the battery of the vehicle. As a result, the need for the conventional cable connection can be eliminated.

れぞれ、駐車した際に上下に密接に重なり合うように取
りつけられる。それぞれの構造は次のとおり。
