要となり、装置が大きくなるだけでなく、アームを通し
てソレノイドやスプリングで圧接するために加圧の加減
が難しいと言う不具合があった。更に、円筒体により潜
像担持体に転写ローラを接離するようにした技術も公知
である(特開平7−230222号の公報を参照)。然
し、この従来例に於ては、円筒体を用いて接離させ得る
記録紙の種類が制限され、特に薄い記録紙の場合には円
筒体を移動することが困難であるだけでなく、画像担持
体と転写部材間に距離が有り、転写バイアスの効率が悪
いために電源コストが上がると言う不具合もあった。従
って、従来の画像形成装置は、潜像担持体に転写ローラ
を接離する装置が大きくなるだけでなく、加圧の加減が
難しく、電源コストも上がると言う不具合があった。

易になると共に潜像担持体とギャップコロとの摺動が滑
らかに行われ接離する加圧力の加減を容易に行うことが
出来るコストも低い画像形成装置を提供することが出来
るようになった。

圧力の加減が容易に行うことが出来ると共に記録紙の厚
さに拘らず潜像担持体と転写ローラとの所定の当接力に
維持し、コストも低い画像形成装置を提供することが出
来るようになった。
