Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress inflammation (itching) by installing a heating means attaining to a specific range of temperature and warming the affected part by bringing the heating means into contact with the inflammatory part. SOLUTION: In controlling itching due to an insect bite, atopic dermatitis, etc., a pen type inflammation suppressing device is employed using a heating wire. This inflammation suppressing device is so constituted as to contain a power source 1, temperature controller 2 for freely adjusting temperature, radiating panel 3 which uses an aluminum plate and which is silver plated on the surface, and a heating element 5 utilizing a chemical reaction such as a disposable body warmer. In addition, for the purpose of long-term use, an adhesive tape is fitted on the surface of the heating element 5, making it possible to stick the element to the skin; also, in avoiding a low temperature burn incident to a long-term use, the device is constituted such that a spacer is interposed between the heating element and the skin. The heating element may be a steam generating device instead, which may control skin dryness by jetting steam.

(Embodiment 1) First, the present method will be described. It has been empirically discovered that this heat-induced inflammation (itch) suppression effect is significantly reduced by treating the insect bite at 45-50 ° C. Therefore, the effect of suppressing the itching by the heat treatment was actually examined. In the experiment, the hair on the back of the rabbit was shaved with a razor, and the exposed skin of the rabbit was bitten by the mosquito by forcibly putting it in an environment where 100 mosquitoes / m 3 were present, thereby producing an inflamed model affected area. The inflamed portion of the model was heated to 45 ° C. with an electric heating device, and the area was measured from the vertical and horizontal diameters of the inflamed site every 10 seconds, and the regression was used to determine the effect. FIG. 1 shows the result. Thirty seconds after the heating, the area of the inflamed site was reduced to about half.

(Example 2) It has been empirically discovered that the effect of suppressing inflammation (itch) due to heat can be remarkably reduced by treating an insect bite at 45-50 ° C. Then, the mechanism was actually investigated about the effect. The amount of histamine generated in the affected part of the insect bite was examined using liquid chromatography, and how it changed with or without heat treatment was examined. As shown in FIG. 2, it was found that the amount of histamine was reduced depending on the heat treatment time. This method
After shaving the rat's hair and exposing the skin, mosquito bites the exposed part and the affected part expands and itching starts.
It was investigated how the amount of histamine changes by the heat treatment. Whether the rat began to feel itching was determined by whether the rat began to bite the affected area with the mouth.

Example 4 A chemical reaction utilizing the reaction heat of the reaction between paulownia ash and oxygen in the air used as a heat source in an ordinary disposable hand warmer, an electrical reaction using a heating wire, and a combustion catalytic reaction. It was used. The temperature of each heat source can be freely adjusted within a range of 40 ° C. to 50 ° C. The temperature was set to 45 ° C., and the effects of each heat source were compared. As shown in FIG. 4, the one using a heating wire was the most effective. This is because the method using the heating wire is easy to control the temperature and the heat supply is constant.

(Example 5) A heat generating apparatus having the structure shown in FIGS. 5-7 was prepared. FIG. 5 uses a heating wire and is characterized by a pen shape. Further, a temperature controller 2 is provided inside, so that the temperature can be freely adjusted according to the degree of symptoms. The radiator plate 3 is made of an aluminum plate and silver-plated on the surface. Next, FIG. 6 shows a heat generating device 5 using a chemical reaction, which has the same configuration as a so-called disposable hand warmer.
It can be attached to the skin. However, in order to avoid long-term use, the heat generating portion is prevented from directly touching the skin by using a spacer 7 between the heat generating portion and the skin to avoid a low-temperature burn. Finally, the heat generating device 5 of FIG. This has the effect of suppressing skin dryness to reduce itching other than insect bites, for example, due to atopic dermatitis.
