Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved sealing material for electric equipment which can be assembled easily and quickly. SOLUTION: A sealing material for electric equipment is provided with a seal layer 10, composed of such porous materials as a foamed synthetic resin, a sponge, etc., an adhesive layer 11 laminated upon the sealing layer 10, and a separator 12 laminated upon the adhesive layer 11 and the sealing layer 10 is provided with a reinforcing layer 14, composed of a synthetic resin sheet or film stuck to the seal layer 10 and adhesive layer 11 between the layers 10 and 11. When the separator 12 is peeled off, the porous material is not broken, because the reinforcing layer 14 directly receives the force produced, when the separator 12 is peeled off. In addition, the sealing material can be easily assembled in electric equipment in a short time, because the sealing layer 10 maintains its initial shape.

2. Description of the Related Art In an electric device, a sealing material is attached to an opening of a housing to protect an internal circuit from dust.
Sealing is done. FIG. 3 shows a sealing material between a liquid crystal display and a housing in a mobile phone. This sealing material has a sealing layer B made of a porous material such as sponge or foam synthetic resin having an opening A through which the liquid crystal display penetrates. An adhesive layer C is laminated on one surface, and further, on the adhesive layer. The separator D is laminated. The assembling is performed, for example, by peeling off the separator D, aligning the opening A with a window exposing the display panel of the liquid crystal display in the housing, arranging and affixing the sealing material on the inner surface of the housing, and attaching the sealing material. This is achieved by fitting the display panel through the window and the opening A, and compressing the sealing layer B by a liquid crystal display.

However, the porous material constituting the seal layer B is thin and soft, and is easily damaged by peeling off the separator D. Therefore, the separator is slowly peeled off or after the separator is peeled off. After the shape of the seal layer is adjusted, the seal layer must be attached to the housing, which requires considerable time and labor for assembly.

The seal layer 10 is made of, for example, urethane foam resin, has a thin flat plate shape, and is provided with a square opening 13. However, a reinforcing layer 14 is provided on a surface to be attached to an electric device.
The reinforcing layer 14 is made of, for example, a sheet or film of a polyester resin, and has the same shape and size as the seal layer 10, and has an opening having the same shape and size as the opening 13 at the same position. . The reinforcing layer 14 is laminated on the surface of the seal layer 10 so that the opening matches the opening 13 in the seal layer 10, and is bonded to the seal layer 10 by the adhesive layer 15. The adhesive layer 11 is the sealing layer 1 in the reinforcing layer 14.
It is laminated on the surface opposite to the surface adhered to zero. The separator 12 is for protecting the adhesive layer 11, has a surface processed so as to be peelable from the adhesive layer 11, and has the processed surface side temporarily bonded to the adhesive layer 11. Reinforcement layer 1
The formation of the adhesive layer 4 and the adhesive layer 11 is performed, for example, by bonding a known double-sided adhesive tape having an adhesive layer on both sides to a seal layer 10 using a polyester resin sheet or film as a base material.

FIG. 2 shows a portable telephone to which the sealing material is attached. The housing is composed of two housing portions in the form of a hollow box having a small thickness and one side open, and joined together with the open surfaces facing each other.
FIG. 2 shows only the housing portion 20 on the front side of the housing. The housing portion 20 includes a hole 21 for exposing a push button and the like on a surface serving as a front surface of the mobile phone, and a window 22 for exposing a liquid crystal display panel. Liquid crystal display 23

The printed wiring board 24 is assembled, for example, by
After peeling the separator 12 from the sealing material, the opening 13
Is aligned with the window 22, the sealing material is arranged on the inner surface of the housing portion 20, and is fixed to the housing portion 20 by the adhesive layer 11. This is performed by fitting the printed wiring board 24 into the window 22 of the portion 20 and fixing the printed wiring board 24 to the housing portion 20. At this time, when the separator 12 is peeled off from the sealing material, the reinforcing layer 14 receives the force at the time of peeling the separator 12 and does not damage the urethane foam resin constituting the sealing layer 10. It can be performed easily and quickly, and also when pasted to the housing part 20, the reinforcing layer 14 keeps the sealing layer 10 in its original flat state or initial shape, and the sealing material is deformed or damaged during work. Therefore, positioning and sticking of the sealing material can be performed easily and quickly. Then, the sealing material is applied to the housing portion 20 and the printed wiring board 24.
When assembled between the sealing portion 10 and the housing portion 2
0, and is compressed or elastically deformed or plastically deformed by the liquid crystal display 23 to seal between the housing portion 20 and the liquid crystal display 23, and to allow external dust to pass through the window 22 to the printed wiring board 24. Do not let it invade.

As described above, the sealing material according to the present invention not only can quickly separate the separator and assemble the casing, but also does not change the procedure of the conventional assembling operation at all. It is possible to reduce the number of work steps to, for example, one third. And since it can be manufactured only by sticking a double-sided adhesive tape having a synthetic resin sheet or film as a base material to a porous body, it can be implemented at low cost.
