Specifically, it appears as a decrease in transparency, which increases the amount of light absorption in the side surface reflection layer 32, so that the reflectance decreases. When the reflectance decreases, there is a problem that the loss of light increases and the X-ray detection sensitivity decreases.

The decrease in sensitivity differs from channel to channel, and also in the same channel depending on the position in the z direction. Such a decrease in sensitivity is difficult to correct and causes a ring artifact in the reconstructed image of the X-ray tomography apparatus.

Further, X-rays incident on the portion where the side surface reflection layer 32 and the light shielding layer 33 are provided reach the substrate 1 without being absorbed so much. The X-rays are scattered by the substrate 1 and reach the photodiode 21, which exposes it. Since a photodiode formed of a semiconductor is weak against X-rays, there is a problem that the photodiode 21 is deteriorated by such exposure to X-rays and the sensitivity of light detection is lowered.

An interval corresponding to the total thickness of the light shielding layer 33 and the side surface reflection layers 32 on both sides of the light shielding layer 33 is formed between adjacent scintillator blocks. The thickness of the wire 4 is selected in the range of 1 to 3 times the interval between the scintillator blocks, that is, the total thickness of the light shielding layer 33 and the side surface reflection layers 32 on both sides thereof. Next, the operation of the X-ray detector thus constructed will be described. X-rays are incident from the y direction to generate scintillation light in the scintillator block 31.
The photodiode 21 detects the light and produces an X-ray detection signal. The side surface reflection layer 32 and the top surface reflection layer 34 reflect the scintillation light traveling toward the side surface and the top surface, respectively, and prevent light loss.

The X-rays incident on the wire 4 are absorbed by the wire 4. Therefore, the X-ray does not hit the light-shielding layer 33 and the side-face reflection layer 32 which are shaded. The shadow width of the wire 4 determines the shielding width. The width of the shadow is determined by the thickness of the wire 4. Since the thickness of the wire 4 is selected in the range of 1 to 3 times the interval between the scintillator blocks, appropriate X-ray shielding is performed. Therefore, the side surface reflection layer 32 is not exposed to X-rays, and the photodiode 21 is not exposed to scattered X-rays.

Therefore, the photo-adhesive or epoxy resin and the photodiode 21 contained in the side surface reflection layer 32 are prevented from being deteriorated by X-rays. The wire 4 also blocks light that attempts to leak into the adjacent channel through the top reflective layer 34. This prevents crosstalk between channels.

Next, an example of a method of manufacturing the X-ray detector of the embodiment of the present invention will be described. 3 to 6 show a processed product in the manufacturing process. First, as shown in FIG. 3, a predetermined number (for example, 16) of scintillator plates 300 having a constant plate thickness are bonded and laminated with a light reflection member 500 interposed therebetween to form a scintillator laminate 600. The plate thickness of the scintillator plate 300 is, for example, about 1 mm. This plate thickness determines the channel width of the X-ray detector.

Next, as shown in FIG. 5, the wire 4 is bonded to the end surface portion of the light reflecting member 500 on the upper surface of the scintillator array 3. Next, as shown in FIG. 6, the upper surface of the channels of the scintillator array 3 is coated with titanium oxide-containing paint to form the upper reflective layer 34. The substrate 1 on which the photodiode array 2 is formed is attached to the lower surface of the scintillator array 3. When mounting, the arrays are aligned with each other.

This completes the 16-channel X-ray detector unit 700. This detector unit 7
A collimator is usually mounted on the 00. When mounting the collimator, it is necessary to accurately position the collimator plate so as to be right above the boundary portion of each channel of the X-ray detector unit 700. In the X-ray detector unit 700, the wire 4 on the upper surface indicates the position of the boundary of the channel, so that the collimator can be easily positioned.

One such X-ray detector unit 700
For example, 1000 channels of X are arranged in the dimension direction.
A line detector is constructed. When configuring an X-ray detector for an X-ray tomography apparatus, the X-ray detector units 700 are arranged so as to form an arc-shaped one-dimensional array. Alternatively, the X-ray detector units 700 may be arranged two-dimensionally to form a two-dimensional detector.

The present invention is not limited to the above embodiments, and the modifications listed below are also included in the scope of the present invention. The wire used as the X-ray shielding member may have a rectangular cross section. In that case, the bondability to the scintillator array is better than that of the circular cross section. In addition, if the side surface of the wire is polished, the effect of improving the light reflectivity in the upper reflective layer can be obtained.
