Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the contrast of a visual image by constituting a lenticular sheet so that a light shielding pattern may be formed on a diffusion layer and it may directly face to an observer. SOLUTION: A film is laminated on the flat surface of the transparent resin lenticular sheet 10 so as to form the diffusion layer 20. On the diffusion layer 20 formed on the flat surface of the lenticular sheet, photosensitive resin ('Cromalin' film) 30 is laminated. Next, by irradiating the sheet with ultraviolet ray from an ultraviolet ray irradiation device, non-adhesive and adhesive parts are formed on the photosensitive resin ('Cromalin' film) 30 in accordance with the condensing and non-condensing parts based on the condensing work of a lenticular lens, thereafter, the sheet is made to pass through a pair of laminating rollers, then, a black transfer layer is transferred from a transfer sheet supplied by the rolls only to the adhesive part, then, the light shielding pattern (black stripe) 40 is formed. Besides, a protecting layer 50 is formed on the outmost surface positioned on the opposite side of a lens part.

Since the number of pixels of the liquid crystal projector has been increased (from the conventional hundreds of thousands of pixels to more than one million pixels) with the increase in definition of the image quality, the fine pitch of the cylindrical lens can be adjusted even for a lenticular sheet. Is required. The fine pitch reduces moire phenomenon caused by the periodicity of the pixels of the liquid crystal projector and the periodicity of the cylindrical lens.
Specifically, a fine pitch of 0.3 mm or less is demanded from the current 0.7 mm.

The lenticular sheet is currently obtained by press-molding a transparent thermoplastic resin sheet or by performing double-side molding simultaneously with melt extrusion. According to the method, it is very difficult to make the above fine pitch. The reason for this is that the temperature is non-uniform at the time of cooling after thermoforming, and the molded product is warped or the heat shrinkage is non-uniform.

[0011] When a lenticular sheet molded by various techniques is used as a screen, a BS is conventionally formed to improve contrast. Although various printing methods such as offset, gravure, and screen are commonly used as a method for forming a BS, the printing method produces a printing plate with high positional accuracy such that an image area becomes a light absorbing area. However, if the cylindrical lens has a fine pitch or the lenticular sheet becomes large, it becomes more difficult to make a printing plate and register (register) it. As a method of forming a light-shielding pattern other than the usual printing method, the following methods are known.

[0013] Japanese Patent Publication No. 16497/1990 The lenticular surface is extruded, and at the same time, the light absorbing layer is formed on the portion other than the lenticular condensing portion by thermally laminating the ink with an ink coating roll. The ink application roll is installed immediately after the molding die roll on the lenticular surface, and the protrusion is provided at a position corresponding to a portion other than the lenticular light collecting portion. The light absorbing layer is formed while supplying ink to the ridges, which contains a light absorbing agent and uses as a binder a resin that can be thermally laminated on a transparent substrate (lenticular plate). In order to form a light absorbing layer in a desired portion, registration of an ink application roll is performed with respect to a lenticular mold roll.

In the above-mentioned one, since the portion forming the light absorption layer requires the "surface of the concave portion or the convex portion" formed on the flat surface of the lenticular plate, the shape of the lens sheet becomes complicated and the molding is difficult. Not only becomes difficult, but there is a problem that the strength of the lens sheet (the deeper the concave portion, the thinner the portion corresponding to the valley portion of the lenticular surface becomes) becomes.

The above is similar to the ordinary printing method,
It is necessary to manufacture a printing plate (ink coating roll) with high positional accuracy. The light-shielding pattern depends on the image area of the printing plate (the ridges of the ink application roll). Whether or not the light-shielding pattern is formed at a desired portion of the lens sheet (a portion other than the lenticular light collecting portion) is printed. Depends on plate precision and printing alignment. Further, in the above-mentioned case, it is difficult to form the BS only at the same position for each cylindrical lens (the same non-light-collecting portion in all the cylindrical lenses). Therefore, when it is required to form a light-shielding pattern at a different position for each cylindrical lens (for example, when the lenticular plate is large and the observation optical path is different between the central cylindrical lens and the end cylindrical lens) It is difficult to handle.

Further, even for a lens sheet which does not require the uneven portion on which the BS is formed, the following method is used as a method for forming the BS on the back surface of the lens sheet with reliable positional accuracy without using a printing plate. Is known.

JP-A-59-121033: A positive photosensitive adhesive (adhesive whose adhesiveness disappears when exposed to light) is arranged on the observation surface side of a transmissive screen (lens sheet). After exposing the adhesive with a light beam projected from a projection light source (projector) or a light source having an aperture equivalent to this from the surface opposite to the surface, after losing the adhesiveness of the condensing part of each unit lens of the lens sheet, Wet process is carried out by spraying light-shielding toner from the observation surface, adhering it to the unexposed area where the adhesiveness remains, and removing the toner and excess toner that have just adhered to the area where the adhesiveness has disappeared. A method for obtaining a transmission type projection screen formed with a BS excellent in light-shielding property easily and inexpensively without the need.

As the photosensitive resin, it is preferable that the exposed part becomes non-adhesive by the reaction and the non-exposed part is adhesive. Among various types of UV photopolymers that are sensitive to UV rays, a chromin film (trade name; manufactured by DuPont) exhibits the above characteristics remarkably, and thus is suitable for use in forming a light shielding pattern (black stripe).

The ultraviolet rays reach the photosensitive resin 30 even through the diffusion layer 20, but as the exposure amount (exposure intensity × exposure time) increases, the exposed portion (cured portion) spreads out from the converging portion. It is possible to adjust the adhesive portion (line width of the light shielding pattern).

As the lenticular sheet, a lens portion having convex cylindrical lenses arranged in parallel is formed on one surface of a transparent support by a cured product of a radiation curable resin. In this case, it is more preferable than a lens sheet formed by molding a thermoplastic resin in achieving a fine pitch of the cylindrical lens, and the lens pitch is preferably 0.3 mm or less.

A protective layer 50 is formed on the outermost surface opposite to the lens portion. Especially when the lens part is formed of a cured product of radiation curable resin, when using the screen,
Since the problem of weather resistance such as yellowing of the lens portion due to the influence of ultraviolet rays contained in outside light is significant, PET
Laminate a film of vinylidene fluoride, PMMA, etc. In order to improve the screen function, the protective layer 50 can be provided with an antireflection function, for example, by matting the surface (fine irregularities) to diffusely reflect external light, or by using an acrylic resin as a base of the protective layer. There is a treatment such as adding silica or the like, or forming a multilayer film by vapor deposition to change the refractive index. To have an antistatic function,
There is a treatment such as coating the surface of the protective layer with a surfactant. In order to improve the contrast, a transparent film (smoke film) colored in dark color may be used. In either case, a film-like protective layer having a thickness of 1 mm or less is sufficient, but if it is a thick and rigid sheet-like protective layer, the protective layer will function as a supporting base material for the lenticular sheet, and thus the projection television. It will be easy to attach to. (Fig. 1 (e))

According to the present invention, a lenticular sheet suitable for observation of a high-definition and high-quality liquid crystal projection television is provided. The lenticular sheet is effective in the points listed below. (1) The light-shielding pattern (BS) is formed on the diffusion layer and directly faces the viewer, so that the contrast of the viewed image is improved. (2) A fine-pitch (fine) light-shielding pattern can be accurately formed corresponding to a cylindrical lens. (3) By forming the lens portion with a cured product of a radiation (ultraviolet ray, electron beam) curable resin, it is possible to achieve a fine pitch that cannot be achieved with a thermoplastic resin. (4) By using the radiation curable resin in which the inorganic compound powder is dispersed and mixed as the diffusion layer, the layer structure of the flat surface is simplified and the lenticular sheet can be thinned.
