Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a product processing line multifunctional and compact by installing an X-ray irradiation means and an X-ray detection means between a carrying-in conveyor and a carrying-out conveyor inside a shielding box and a weight metering means at one out of both conveyors. SOLUTION: An object to be inspected is carried in from an entrance 2a to a carrying-in conveyor 3 inside an X-ray shielding box 2, it is delivered to a carrying-out conveyor 4 in the central part so as to be carried out to an exit 2b, an X-ray irradiation device 6 is installed at the upper part of their gap 5, and an X-ray detector 7 is installed at the lower part. Two-dimensional data on the plane shape of the object to be inspected is found by many sensors which are arranged in the width direction of the conveyors 3, 4 of the detector 7, it is processed by an X-ray image processing part 11a, an image according to transmitted X-rays is found, and whether a foreign matter is mixed or not is discriminated. The weight of the object to be inspected on the conveyor 4 is metered by a metering device 4a, its signal is input to a weight processing part 11c, and a weight value is compared with a reference weight value which is read out from a storage part 11d so as to judge whether it is within the range of an allowable error or not. Their results are displayed on a display part 12b so as to be output to a sorting device 21.

The reference dose Xn is the amount of transmitted X-rays detected by the X-ray detector 7 when the thickness of each type of article is the reference thickness T0. It is the irradiation dose when it becomes the most suitable amount in terms of processing, and is experimentally obtained in advance using the article of each item having the reference thickness T0. Further, the density correction coefficient Kn is insufficient for an article having a high density, for example, when the thickness is doubled, doubling the X-ray irradiation dose is insufficient. This is also for the purpose of coping with the case where the X-ray irradiation dose may be too large when it is doubled.

Specifically, it is calculated how many times the thickness T of the article to be inspected corresponds to the reference thickness T0 when the reference dose Xn of X-rays is calculated, and the magnification (T / T0). Is the reference dose X
It is multiplied by n and corrected by using the density correction coefficient Kn, whereby the reference irradiation amount Xn is obtained when the amount of transmitted X-rays is the reference thickness T0, regardless of the thickness and density of the inspected article. It is almost the same as the amount when irradiated with.

In this case, the amount of transmitted X-rays detected by the X-ray detector 7 is the reference irradiation amount Xn when the thickness of the inspected article is the reference thickness T0 as described above. When the article having the reference thickness T0 is irradiated with the reference irradiation amount Xn, the transmitted X-ray amount is
Since the amount can be most clearly identified when foreign matter is mixed in the inspected article, even when the foreign matter is mixed in the inspected article having the thickness T, the Image processing will allow this to be clearly identified.

The signal from the measuring instrument 4a is sent to the controller 11
The weight value indicated by the signal is compared with the reference weight Wn and the allowable error range Dn of the article read from the storage section 11d. Then, the processing unit 11c determines whether or not the weight value is within an allowable error range Dn with respect to the reference weight Wn, that is, whether the weight is a positive amount or a non-weight amount, and the determination result is displayed on the display unit 12b of the operating device 12. On the other hand, the determination result is output to the distribution device 21 as a control signal.
