Optical system for. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION In our British patent application No. 22494406, we disclosed an optical system using a reversing mirror. The present invention seeks to improve its design. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention provides an optical system using a reversing mirror, wherein a second reversing mirror is arranged behind the objective lens and between the objective lens and the first reversing mirror. By arranging the second mirror in this manner, the second mirror can be made smaller than ever. Incorporating optical correction into this second mirror design becomes more difficult, but still acceptable optical quality can be obtained. Furthermore, due to the miniaturization of this second mirror, the cost of incorporating optical correction into the small mirror is reduced. An important advantage of small mirrors is that they are low cost and the containers that house the optics are also small, which reduces the overall volume and weight of the instrument. Relatively simple to increase the amount of captured light and / or increase the viewing field while avoiding the increased cost associated with more complex lens systems and the increased weight associated with more complex lens assemblies. An objective lens system and a relatively simple eyepiece lens unit can be used. Various problems are dealt with in the mirror. If the mirror is a Mangin type lens, only a portion of the lens material is plated (silver plated) and the top of it functions as a normal lens, usually with negative power, for telephoto viewing. It is also possible to work with an objective lens to form a lens of the type. This allows the original objective lens to be further retracted. This can reduce equipment length, improve optical correction, or both. By changing the distance between the two mirrors, the reflector can be used as a unit for focusing the visual aids and requires only a short travel distance, so using an electromechanical material Auxiliary equipment can be made to be focusable by a push button. The advantage of this design comes from the fact that the complexity of the optics can be concentrated in two inverting mirrors, where the bundle of rays is narrow and thus the mirrors are in the smaller central region of the optics. In the objective lens, even if the field of view is small, the light flux is wide enough to maximize the aperture of the visual aid. In the eyepiece, the size of the lens must be large in order to increase the field of view angle and the exit pupil distance (eye relief) even if the diameter of each ray bundle is small. With this new configuration, both the ray bundle size and the field of view angle values are modest in the central region, and thus the components in this region are not very large. This means that these elements in the central area can be complicated without unduly increasing their weight and cost. Thus, the large components of the objective and eyepiece can be simple, and despite their large diameter, these components can be relatively low in cost and weight. This is more suitable than conventional binoculars and other optical systems. This is because in conventional binoculars or other optical systems, the optical path is folded by a prism, which simply corrects the image direction, and all optical correction has to be done in the objective or eyepiece. is there. It goes without saying that the required complexity of the central component of the invention depends on the quality of the optical correction required for the instrument and the length of the central unit itself. Good correction is obtained when the ratio between the total length of the central unit and the diameter of its parts is about 4: 1 to 1.2: 1. As instrument magnification increases, objective lenses typically have larger diameters and longer focal lengths. This causes the objective lens to move further in front of the central optical unit. Compared to the advantageous configuration disclosed in British Patent Application No. 22494406, the position of the front Mangin mirror is mainly determined by the rear Mangin mirror and tends to be less affected by the objective lens. . Another form of the invention provides an optical system that uses a reversing mirror in which multiple optical paths are separated from each other by the use of polarizing screens. With conventional ray baffles, it is possible for rays to bypass the central optical element and reach the eyepiece directly. The polarizing screen can be larger than a conventional ray baffle, thus preventing rays from circumventing the central optical unit and thus not directly reaching the eyepiece. The available rays that pass through the polarizing screen are available. The invention is suitable, for example, for binoculars or spotting scopes. FIG. 1 is a conceptual diagram showing one configuration of the optical system of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a conceptual diagram showing a second configuration of the optical system of the present invention. FIG. 3 is a conceptual diagram of another embodiment in which various surfaces are distinguished and shown. FIG. 4 is a conceptual diagram of another embodiment of the optical system of the present invention. DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT FIG. 1 shows that a light beam passes through an objective lens 11 and reaches an inverting mirror system 12, which comprises a first Mangin type mirror 13 and a second Mangin type mirror 13. 1 shows an optical system consisting of a Jean type mirror 14 and a lens array formed by a lower half of the mirror 13 which is not silver-plated and another lens 15. From the lenses 13 and 15, the light rays reach the eyepiece unit formed by the lenses 16 and 17. In the case of FIG. 2 as well, the configuration is similar, and the same parts are designated by the same reference numerals. The difference is that the upper half of the second mirror 14 is not silver-plated and projects into the optical path between the objective lens 11 and the first mirror 13 and cooperates with the objective lens, thereby A type lens is formed. If this upper half effect is a negative degree lens effect, then the objective can be moved to the right, which can reduce the length of the instrument or keep the same distance to make the instrument better. Can be corrected. In these two embodiments, the two mirrors are in the central region of the system where the rays are concentrated. Good correction of the optical error is obtained when the total length of the central unit formed by the Mangin mirror is about 1.2 to 4 times the diameter of its components. Both of the above figures are suitable for providing a magnification of x8, but the principle is also applicable to any magnification, for example higher magnifications such as x20 and x40 used in spotting scopes and the like. In both figures, means (not shown) may be provided to adjust the mirror spacing or position to focus the visual aid. The arrangement is similar in FIG. 3 and the same reference numbers are used. There are two structural differences, namely that an additional lens 30 is used in the eyepiece unit and that the first Mangin lens does not use silver plating on the lens to form the actual mirror. , Using a separate mirror 35 that can be formed by silver plating a separate synthetic resin material element. The use of such a separate element simplifies the design of the lens and allows asphericity to be incorporated into this separate element. Such an element is also lightweight and therefore can be easily moved with little force to bring the visual aid into focus. This example is for a 10 × 25/35 design and has a magnification of 9.7 × and an exit pupil distance (eye relief) of 18 mm. The objective lens is semi-circular, has a diameter of 27 mm, and can be notched to form an elliptical aperture of 25 mm × 35 mm. The horizontal field of view can be well corrected to 8 ° or 9 ° and has a maximum of 10 ° or close to, which is comparable to 95 ° or higher in the unaided eye. The following table shows the main dimensions and properties of the optical elements. (M) Reflective surface 35 Front surface mirror 37 Mangin type mirror The first mirror is formed as a pure reflective surface slightly behind the lens and the second mirror is formed in the same way, or the first mirror is formed. Instead of forming in this way, it is also possible to form the second mirror in this way. The advantages of forming the second mirror in this way are similar to those mentioned for the first mirror, but appear not to be as effective as for the first mirror. FIG. 4 shows the new baffle arrangement. Instead of the usual opaque baffles, a first polarizing screen 19, which acts like an oversized opaque baffle, projects from below into the light beam passing through the objective lens. Most of the rays do not pass through this screen and reach the first mirror, but the rays towards the bottom pass through this screen. The second screen 20 projects into the optical path from above at or near the exit of the inverting system 12 from above and is polarized so as to block undesired light rays reaching the eyepiece from the objective lens directly without passing through the mirror. ing. Some of the useful light rays pass through the first screen 19 to reach the first mirror and then to the second mirror, but to avoid this, a quarter wavelength delay is made for each pass. It is also possible that the delay plate 24 provided in association with the second mirror 14 allows the light rays passing through the first screen and reflected from the first mirror to pass through the delay plate 24. . It will be appreciated that the ray will not only pass the delay plate 24 on the path to the second mirror, but will also pass through the delay plate 24 after being reflected by the second mirror. As a result, the unwanted rays can be completely blocked, while the useful rays can be kept within the allowable range when passing through the screen 20. In all embodiments, the bundle of rays, or at least the bundle of rays that can be used intrinsically, is non-circular, so that the optical path can be tightly folded onto itself. In this specification, the first mirror physically corresponds to the rearview mirror but reflects the light rays first, and the second mirror physically precedes the rearview mirror or first mirror. To position. Another form of the invention relates to a combination of binoculars and a camera. The binoculars may be as described above. In the binoculars-camera combination of this embodiment, the binoculars are equipped with a reflector mirror near the inner side of the exit point of the binoculars, the binoculars are provided with a reflection type mirror, and when this mirror is activated, the light rays are directed lateral Is reflected to. The reflected light is made into a bundle of substantially parallel rays in the binoculars before reaching the reflection type mirror or after being reflected by the reflector, and the camera is binoculars to receive the bundle of parallel rays. Mounted away from the optical axis of. Since the rays received by the camera are collimated, the positioning of the camera is not important and it is not necessary to remove the camera lens. The camera does not interfere with the normal use of the binoculars, so that the binoculars can be used normally with little interference with the use of the camera. FIG. 5 shows such a binocular / camera combination. FIG. 5 shows one of a pair of optical paths in binoculars as described in British Patent Application No. 22494406A. The objective lens 1 directs the light rays so that they pass through a pair of reversing mirrors 2 and 3 and then to the eyepiece combination parts 4 and 5. A pair of plane mirrors 6 and 7 is arranged between the components 4 and 5 of the combination. In the present invention, the mirror 7 is used as a kind of reflector, which in normal use at position 8 directs the light beam so that it passes through the second part of the combination part 4 and 5. . When actuated, this mirror 7 moves to position 9 and reflects the light rays laterally into the collimator lens unit 10, which, like that of the component 5, acts in the camera. The rays are collimated in front of the entrance of 11. Position 9 is defined so that the optical axis of the camera is at right angles to the optical axis of the binoculars, or the camera is tilted further away from the user's face. As used herein, lateral may mean not only horizontally but also downward or upward. However, this assumes that the sides have the lateral meaning of the general direction of the rays passing through the binoculars. The mounting of the camera on the binoculars can be of any form, but this assumes that the camera is oriented in the correct direction. It is possible that any slight error will cause some loss of visibility, but there will be little or no degradation in image quality. If the optics of the binoculars have a flat field of view image, the rays are almost perfectly collimated by the unit 10. Even a slight deviation from the perfect parallel ray bundle will degrade the image quality to some extent, but this degradation will be within an acceptable range. The present invention is not limited to the position of the reflector, and other positions or orientations may be advantageous to those of ordinary skill in the art. During use of the present invention, the camera can be mounted whenever it feels necessary to take a picture, and the binoculars can be used as usual once mounted. When taking a picture, the reflector is activated and the shutter of the camera is operated. The binoculars can then be returned to normal use.
