Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the recording method and a device thereof of a digital signal capable of recording digital data having different data compressing ratio in a disk with high recording density. CONSTITUTION: A digital signal corresponding to an original signal dividing an analogue signal as the object of recording/reproducing for every fixed time length is encoded under the condition that the data compression ratio is changed according to the content of the original signal, divided into one and more blocks having prescribed amounts of data, respectively, the pieces of identifying information are added to the respective blocks and a composed segment signal is generated. The segment signal is stored in a storage device BMr having a storage capacity for storing digital signals having time length longer than that corresponding to the rotating period of a rotary recording medium disk D. The respective segment signals continuing time-wise and read out of the storage device BMr are recorded in the rotary recording medium disk D so as to be recorded in a recording area succeeding to the recording part of the segment signal just before the respective segment signals.

2. Description of the Related Art The most general recording / reproducing system for recording and reproducing a digital signal based on an image signal or an audio signal on a rotary recording medium disk is, for example, as shown in the block diagram of FIG. It is conceivable that the digital signal is recorded as it is on the rotating recording medium disk and reproduced, but when digitizing signals such as image signals and audio signals, the signal level is made uniform for each sample value. In order to avoid the difference between the representative point and the original value by adopting a linear quantization (equal quantization) method that divides and replaces the values contained in each range with one representative value, generally It is said that 6 bits (32 gradations) to 8 bits (256 gradations) are required for a natural image, and 8 bits to 16 bits (65536 gradations) are required for audio. Is when you try to directly record the digitized signal by uniform quantization as described above the audio signal, it is necessary to deal with large amount of information such as the respective sample values.

Therefore, even if the signal is encoded with a smaller amount of information, it is sensitive to the change in the part where the signal changes little and there is some error in the part where the signal changes drastically. To reduce the amount of information per sample by using the human visual and auditory properties that are difficult to detect, or by using the correlation on the time axis of the information signal to be recorded There is also known a recording / reproducing system in which the amount of data to be recorded is compressed by applying various high-efficiency encoding systems as described above and recorded on a rotating recording medium disk for reproduction. The block diagrams of FIGS. 9 and 10 show an example configuration of a conventional recording / reproducing system in which a data amount is compressed and recorded on a rotating recording medium disk for reproduction.

In the recording / reproducing method of the digital signal for the rotating recording medium disc shown in FIG. 8, since the digital data recorded / reproducing using the rotating recording medium disc (disk) is not data-compressed, the data rate is 100 Mbit- 200 Mbi
Since it is extremely large like t / sec, in order to reduce the data rate when recording on the disc and to lengthen the recording time of the disc, the digital signals to be recorded on the disc are divided into multiple channels, I try to record in parallel.

In the digital signal recording / reproducing system for the rotating recording medium disk described so far with reference to FIGS. 8 to 10, the digital data in the uncompressed state is rotated. It may be recorded on a recording medium and reproduced, or digital data in a state in which data is compressed so that a certain amount of data is recorded may be recorded and reproduced on a rotating recording medium. Therefore, the data rate of the digital data during the recording / reproducing operation is set for the portion having the largest amount of data in the information signal to be recorded / reproduced, and the storage capacity of the disc is increased. If it is constant, the recording time becomes short, and the signal quality (image quality for image signals, audio for audio signals) is high for phrases with a large amount of information. It turned into be had.

In the buffer memory BMr, the storage amount shown by the solid line in FIG. 5B reaches the recording start threshold shown by the dotted line in FIG. 5B. Each time the data is read out for recording, encoded and modulated as described later, and after a waiting time up to the recording area following the last recording portion up to that time, the disc is read as shown in FIG. 5C. Will be recorded in. Note that in FIG.
(a) shows the digital data before compression, and FIG.
The solid line in (b) shows the digital data after compression,
Further, FIG. 5C shows a sequential recording state of digital data in the recording trace of the disc. The buffer memory (storage device) BMr is read out for recording each time the recording start threshold is reached, and is recorded on the disc after a waiting time, but the number of times of recording is natural. However, it can be reduced as the storage capacity that can be stored in the storage device increases.

In FIG. 1, only one data compressor DCCa for the digital signal of the audio signal is shown, but also for the audio signal, as in the case of the data compression for the image signal in FIG. A data compressor may be used. As described above, when the data compression is performed by a plurality of methods, the information (identification information of the data compression method) of the data compression method applied to the recorded and reproduced data is also included. , So that it is recorded and reproduced together with the compressed data. Incidentally, at least one of the time code and the segment number is included in the segment data. As in the case of the above-described signal processing of the image signal, the two storage devices may be alternately used at regular intervals (for example, one frame period of the image signal) in the signal processing of the audio signal. However, since the speed of memory access to the storage device is slow in the case of a voice signal, one memory having an information amount of two frame periods is used as a storage device to be used for signal processing of the voice signal. It is also possible to perform time sharing access using.

The output signal from the encoder CDC is supplied to the modulator MOD. The modulator MOD first generates a demodulation auxiliary signal {amble signal} at the start of recording, and then the block synchronization signal. The operation of modulating data and parity and generating a modulated signal for one block (see FIG. 11) is repeated a number of times determined by the storage amount of the buffer memory BMr. The generation of the modulation signal in the modulator MOD is carried out by a speed control circuit (not shown) at a recording position on the disk D which rotates integrally with the disk motor Md which is always driven and rotated at a constant angular speed. This is performed by a modulation operation that realizes data recording with a constant linear recording density at any position in the radial direction.

That is, in the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, a recording / reproducing position detecting device PM (having a function capable of generating a signal corresponding to the position of the recording / reproducing head Hrp in the radial direction of the disk D ... For example, of potentiometer type) May be used), the information on the position of the recording / reproducing head Hrp in the radial direction of the disk D is given to the recording speed control circuit RVC, and the recording speed control circuit RVC uses the information on the diameter of the disk D in the recording / reproducing head Hrp. A recording speed control signal corresponding to the position is generated and supplied to the modulator MOD. In the modulator MOD, the recording speed control circuit RV described above is used.
The frequency of the modulation clock signal is changed by the recording speed control signal generated at C, so that no matter where the recording / reproducing head Hrp is located in the radial direction of the disk D, the linear data density is constant and the digital data is kept. To be recorded.

Next, the recording / reproducing head H is transferred from the disk D on which the digital data is recorded at a high density as described above.
The modulated signal of the digital data read at rp is shown in FIG.
A predetermined signal processing is performed by the reproduction system illustrated therein, so that an image signal is output from the output terminal 3 and an audio signal is output from the output terminal 4. That is, the modulated signal of digital data read from the disk D by the recording / reproducing head Hrp is amplified by the reproducing amplifier GCp and then supplied to the demodulator DEM. The demodulator DEM usually has a phase locked loop (P
LL), lock-in is performed with an amble signal in the reproduced signal, and the modulated signals after the block synchronization signal are sequentially demodulated. Also, demodulates the block number in a specific relation position (for example, a position immediately after the block synchronization signal) with the block synchronization signal in each block signal, and gives it to the block number detection circuit BND,
The block number detection circuit BND stores it in the register.

(Hereinafter referred to as directory data),
If the directory data is not recorded or the directory data error is detected on the disc where the segment data is not recorded in that portion, the above-mentioned directory data is recorded. The segment signals may be sequentially reproduced from the start end of the segment signal at a position separated from the power region by a certain distance. Also, at least one of the time code and the segment number is included in the segment data, and the registration of the recorded content by the time code or the segment number is set in the area where the directory data should be recorded. When this is the case, the data indicating the reproduction order is also recorded in the area where the directory data should be recorded using this directory data, and the data indicating the reproduction order is identified as reproduction command data. Therefore, when the disc is loaded, the area where the directory data is to be recorded may be read first, and the reproducing operation according to the reproducing command may be performed. Also, CLV recording (constant linear recording density) may be performed during recording, and CAV reproduction may be performed during reproduction.

As is clear from the above description, the method and apparatus for recording a digital signal on the rotary recording medium disk of the present invention is designed to record an analog signal to be recorded and reproduced at a constant time length. One or more blocks, each of which encodes a discrete signal corresponding to the original signal divided into sections in a state in which the data compression rate is changed according to the signal content of the original signal and has a predetermined data amount. In the case of recording a segment signal, which is configured by adding identification information to each block, into a rotating recording medium disc, a digital signal having a time length or more corresponding to the rotation period of the rotating recording medium disc can be stored. The segment signal described above is stored in a storage device having a storage capacity, and recording of each segment signal that is temporally continuous is performed immediately before each segment signal. Since the recording is performed in the recording area subsequent to the recording portion of the segment signal, the digital data is recorded on the disc D by changing the data rate so that the linear recording density becomes constant. Density can be recorded. In addition, the discrete signal corresponding to the original signal obtained by dividing the image signal to be recorded / reproduced at regular time intervals is changed in data compression rate according to the signal content of the original signal. Encoded with, and
A segment signal configured by dividing the block into one or more blocks each having a predetermined data amount and adding identification information to each block is used for the above-mentioned data compression based on the correlation of each image content itself. And a second segment signal for which the above-described data compression is performed based on the correlation of the image contents themselves and the correlation of the image contents between images that are continuous on the time axis. And recording the segment signal in which the first and second segment signals include identification information for distinguishing each other from each other on the rotary recording medium disk. In this case, the segment signal is stored in a storage device having a storage capacity capable of storing a digital signal having a time length corresponding to the rotation period of the rotation recording medium disc or more. In the disk D in which digital data is recorded at a high density, the recording of each segment signal which is continuous in time is performed in the recording area following the recording portion of the segment signal immediately before each segment signal. It is possible to easily reproduce only the first segment signals and reproduce the subsequent first segment signals repeatedly as still images. Further, in the present invention, optimum data compression according to the momentary contents such as a moving image and a sound is easy and long-time recording is possible, and since complete synchronization operation is unnecessary, CLV recording is performed. C
Do not use a complicated and time-consuming CLV servo by performing AV reproduction or rotating the disc at a constant angular velocity and changing the data recording rate according to the disc diameter to keep the linear recording density constant. Since the recording capacity can be the same as that in the case of CLV recording, it is possible to perform recording for a long time without deterioration of image quality and sound quality.
