Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain culture soil which is a water-containing mixture of palm powder obtained by cutting palm skin and peat-moss at a specific ratio, excellent in uniformity of quality and growth in budding and improved in seedling raising efficiency and useful for farm household cultivating fruits and vegetables. CONSTITUTION: This culture soil comprises a water-containing mixture of (A) 80-60wt.% palm powder obtained by cutting palm skin with (B) 40-20wt.% peat- moss. Furthermore, a mixture of the culture soil with <=10wt.% of small amount of pearlite or vermiculite is preferably used as the culture soil.

2. Description of the Related Art A seed bed requires almost no fertilizer components and is excellent in air permeability and water retention. Therefore, an appropriate soil is mixed with a soil improvement material having a large water retention capacity. There is. In addition, the soil for growing vegetable seedlings is prepared by adding organic matter such as compost to the soil, depositing it from the summer of the previous year, and further cutting it. However, the quality of the finished soil is not always stable because much labor is required until the soil is completed, and nutrients are leached or changed during the sedimentation. Therefore, in recent years, quick-bed soil has been used.

In the case of sandy soil, the quick-bed soil basically contains 5 to 10% by volume of perlite and vermiculite, and peat moss and a humic acid type soil improver are added. If the original soil is red soil or volcanic ash soil, the weight ratio is 10-2.
0% compost is mixed and the leaf soil is used as it is.

By the way, it is necessary to use the above-mentioned quick-bedded soil which is not likely to cause pests, and the quality of the original soil is not always constant.
That is, it is difficult to make the quality uniform when the quick-bed soil is sold to general home gardens and fruit growers. Therefore, the present invention proposes a new culture medium that is uniform in quality, has excellent growth during germination, and has excellent seedling raising efficiency.

[Action] Palm powder, which is the main component, is the fiber itself,
It has very good water retention and breathability, but its cation exchange capacity is rather small and its retention of fertilizing ingredients is poor. However, the mixed peat moss has a large cation exchange capacity, a large content of humic acid in the organic matter, and a large retention of fertilizing components, thus compensating for the disadvantages of coconut flour.

The soil of the present invention was produced by mixing 2.8 kg of coconut powder and 1.2 kg of peat moss shown in Table 1 with 4 kg of water and mixing them. This cultivated soil and the commercially available cultivated soil having the composition shown in Table 1 were used as the germination bed soil of tomatoes by adding the same and the same amount of liquid fertilizer, and when the germination state was observed, the cultivated soil of the present invention was used. The degree of growth of the tomato seedlings on the 6th day was similar to that on the 7th day of the commercial culture soil. That is, the germination and growth ability was remarkably superior to that of general culture soil.

Further, when porous vermiculite or perlite is added to the above-mentioned soil of the present invention, it is possible to improve and control the water retention and the permeable enclosure which change depending on the mixing ratio of peat moss and coconut powder. The present invention is not applied only to the above-mentioned soil for germination of vegetables, and the whole soil is almost organic, and its decomposition results in a humic acid material, which also has the advantage of producing a fertilizer effect, and for general household use. It can also be widely used as pottery and floor soil in a vegetable garden.
