Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep a cushion property while regulating surely the forward movement of an occupant by providing an air bag module on the floor of the lower part of a seat cushion and a plate member operable front on the upper part of the air bag module to lift the plate member with the expanded air bag to the front opened inclined condition. CONSTITUTION:An air bag module 7 is provided in a recess 6 formed in a floor 5 on the lower part of a seat cushion 4 and covered on the upper side with a plate member 9 to be operable front about a hinge 8 on the rear side. The plate member 9 covers the recess 6 along the floor 5 and the cushion property of the seat cushion 4 is not hindered. In the collision of cars, an air bag 7a of the air bag module 7 is unfolded and expanded upward according to a signal detected by a sensor S to lift the plate member 9. Since the rear end of the plate member 9 is fixed by a hinge 8, it is opened front and inclined to enter the lower part of the seat cushion 4 and increase the density thereof, harden the seat cushion and regulate the forward movement of the waste H of an occupant.

ためのラバー10が設けられている。この板材9はちょ
うどフロア5に沿った状態で凹部6を覆っており、シー
トクッション4の下部が前記板材9に近接している。従
って、通常時は、シートクッション4のクッション性が
阻害されることはなく、乗員にとって良好な着座感が得
られる。

グを上向きに膨張させるエアバッグモジュールを設ける
と共に、該エアバッグモジュールの上部に後端のヒンジ
を中心に前開き自在な板材を設け、該板材が膨張したエ
アバッグにより持ち上げられて一定の前開き傾斜状態と
なることを特徴とする乗員前方移動規制用のシート下部
構造。
