Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.2つの磁極を有し、エアギャップが比較的小さい少なくとも3対の“山”と 呼称されるセクター(3及び3′)、及びエァギャップが比較的大きい寸法を有 し、前記山を互いに分離する“谷”と呼称されるセクター(4)の形態を有する スペースを含む磁気回路を構成する電磁石から成り、電磁石の磁極を囲む少なく とも1対の主円形コイル(6)によって駆動され、粒子ビームを前記セクターに よって集束する超伝導または非超伝導小型アイソクローナル・サイクロトロンに おいて、2つの山(3及び3′)の間に位置するエアギャップ(8)が中心平面 (10)上、山半径(Rc)と呼称される山の半径方向端部においてほぼ完全な 閉鎖状態を呈するほぼ楕円形に変化するプロフィルを有することを特徴とする前 記アイソクローナル・サイクロトロン。 2.2つの山(3及び3′)の間のエアギャップ(8)が中心平面(10)上、 山半径(Rc)において完全に閉鎖することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のサイ クロトロン。 3.2つの山(3及び3′)の間のエアギャップ(8)が山半径(Rc)におい て好ましくは抽出ビームの垂直方向寸法以下の小さい開口を有することを特徴と する請求項1に記載のサイクロトロン。 4.山の半径方向端部(Rc)を越えた位置で各対の山(3及び3′)の間に電 磁石の磁極を連続するように磁気分路(9)を形成したことを特徴とする請求項 2または3に記載のサイクロトロン。 5.抽出ビームが通過できるように少なくとも1つの磁気分路(9)に少なくと も1つの開口(11)を設けたことを特徴とする請求項4に記載のサイクロトロ ン。 6.磁気分路(9)を2ないし10mm、好ましくは6.5mm程度の厚さを有 する金属スクリーンで形成したことを特徴とする請求項4または5に記載のサイ クロトロン。 7.サイクロトロンに設けた抽出システムが1つの静電デフレクター、及びこれ に後続する好ましくは2つまたは3つの集束静電チャンネルから成ることを特徴 とする請求項1ないし6のいずれかに記載のサイクロトロン。 8.陽子を150MeV以上のエネルギーにまで加速することに利用する請求項 1ないし7のいずれかに記載のサイクロトロン。
