As a method for solving such a drawback, an optical recording method has been proposed, and the above problem is easily solved by this method. However, a recording medium of such a recording method is, for example, a card substrate or the like. Limited to specific materials and shapes such as plastic sheets and films, and difficult to reproduce in large quantities, for example, catalogs of products for which various information inputs are required, books, printed matter, and other various products, There is a problem that it is difficult to apply it to the packaging easily and simply, and therefore the degree of its spread is inferior to that of the magnetic recording method.

One example of the transfer type optical recording medium of the present invention is a thermal transfer type,
As shown in the cross-sectional view in FIG. 1, a releasable base sheet 1, a protective layer 6, an optical recording layer 2, a reflective layer 3 and a heat-sensitive adhesive layer 4 are laminated in this order, On the recording layer 2, information 5 in which characters and patterns are converted into digital signals is recorded.

The releasable substrate sheet 1 is a plastic film such as a polyester film or a sheet substrate such as a sheet or paper, and may have a certain level of strength, heat resistance, moisture resistance and the like. The releasable substrate sheet used for the transfer foil or the like can be used as it is.

Since the releasable base sheet 1 and the protective layer 6 need to be releasably adhered to each other, when the base sheet 1 has sufficient releasability, the releasable base sheet 1 and the protective layer 6 may be attached to the base sheet 1 on the base sheet 1. The protective layer 6 may be directly laminated, but in the case of paper, for example, it is necessary to use release paper having a release layer (not shown) formed on its surface.

The protective layer 6 is a base material layer for forming the information 5 on the optical recording layer 2, and is transferred to a transfer material together with other layers during transfer,
It forms a protective layer (top coat layer) of the optical recording layer 2 after transfer, and is formed of a material having excellent durability such as chemical resistance, stain resistance, and abrasion resistance, and a light transmissive material. Examples of such a material include known resins such as polycarbonate resin and polyester resin.

On the optical recording layer 2 formed on the surface of the protective layer 6, necessary information such as characters and pictures is recorded as a digital signal 5 on the surface. The recording of the information 5 can be carried out by various conventionally known methods, but as a preferable example, the optical recording layer 2 is made of a thermoplastic electron beam curable resin which is solid and transparent at room temperature. On the other hand, on the other hand, an original plate on which necessary information is recorded is prepared by, for example, a photolithography method, and the original plate is optically pressed against the surface of the optical recording layer 2 so that the information on the original plate is optically exposed. A method of transferring to the recording layer 2 and then curing the optical recording layer 2 with an electron beam can be mentioned. Of course, the formation of the optical recording layer 2 is not limited to the electron beam curable resin, and a thermoplastic resin, an ultraviolet curable resin, a thermosetting resin or the like can be similarly used. This method is preferable because it is easy to copy a large amount of information.

Further, the information 5 to be recorded may be any information as long as it digitizes a character, a pattern, or the like, and when the reading light such as a laser light is irradiated on the digital signal, the reflectance of the light is selectively changed. For example, a fine concavo-convex pattern, a light scattering pattern, or the like is arbitrary, and these information may be read-only information or writable / rewritable information.

The light reflection layer 3 formed on the surface of the optical recording layer 2 reflects the read light incident on the optical recording layer 2 after transfer, and the change in the intensity or direction of the reflected light is caused by the above light. This is performed by the digital signal 5 recorded on the recording layer 2. The reflective layer 3 can be easily formed by, for example, vapor deposition of a metal such as aluminum or silver, and has a preferable thickness of about 0.1 to 5 μm.

FIG. 2 is a view for explaining a method of using the heat-sensitive transfer type optical recording medium of the present invention, in which the transfer type optical recording medium of the present invention is used as a transfer target material 7 (for example, printed matter, books, plastics). Molded articles, metal products, their packaging containers, wrapping paper, etc., such as types, materials, shapes, etc. are not limited at all), the adhesive layer 4 is placed on the desired surface so as to face each other, and heated and adhered, Then, by peeling the releasable base sheet 1, the layer including the optical recording layer 2 is transferred onto the surface of the article which is the material 7 to be transferred. After such transfer, the protective layer 6 is located on the outermost surface of the transfer layer to protect the optical recording layer 2.
