Description

【考案の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本考案は、主として、自動車用ワイヤハーネスの接続に
用いられるコネクタに関し、端子金具の逆挿入防止構造
について改良したものである。
〔従来の技術〕
第７図において、コネクタハウジングａの端子収容室ｂ
には一体の可撓係止片ｃが設けられ、正規に挿入された
端子金具ｄを係止している。端子金具ｄには挿入姿勢を
安定させるスタビライザｅが設けられ、溝ｆに係入する
と共に可撓係止片ｃの基部c1に衝合している。
端子金具ｄを端子収容室ｂに対して逆挿入した場合には
スタビライザｅが溝ｆと対向する壁面に形成された係合
部ｇに係合してそれ以上の進入が防止されるように構成
されているが、係合部ｇの肉厚が薄い場合には削り取ら
れてしまい、かかる逆挿入が発生するおそれがあり、ま
たコネクタハウジングには設計上の制約からスタビライ
ザ等の逆挿入防止突起に対する十分な厚さの係合部を設
けられない場合がある。
〔考案が解決しようとする課題〕
本考案はかかる点に着目して為されたものであり、コネ
クタハウジングに対する端子金具の逆挿入時において端
子金具に設けた逆挿入防止突起をコネクタハウジングに
おける十分な強度の係合部に案内して係合させることに
より、コネクタハウジングに逆挿入防止専用の係止部を
設ける必要が無いようにしたものである。
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
上記の目的を達成するため、本考案においては、コネク
タハウジングの端子収容室に端子金具に対する可撓係止
片を設け、該可撓係止片の基部と端子収容室の一側壁と
の間にテーパー状案内面を設け、端子金具の挿入時にお
いて端子金具の一側に設けた逆挿入防止突起を該テーパ
ー状案内面により該端子金具の挿入方向と交叉する方向
に変位させて該基部に係合させる構成を採用した。
〔実施例〕
第１図及び第２図において、コネクタハウジングＡの端
子収容室１には上壁1aにおいて基部2aを介して前方に延
長して可撓係止片２が設けられる。可撓係止片２は公知
の如くにその延長方向と交叉方向の両側壁1b,1bとの間
に間隙３を介在させた状態で形成され、自由端部に係止
部2bを有する。コネクタハウジングＡの底壁2cには溝４
が形成される。
可撓係止片２の前記基部2aにはテーパー状立上り面2cが
形成され、一方の側壁1bから該テーパー状立上り面2cに
かけてテーパー状案内面５が前記間隙３の一方を塞ぐ状
態で設けられている。
端子金具Ｂは、雌型の電気接触部B1と電線接続部B2とよ
り成り、電気接触部B1の底部一側において下方に垂下し
て逆挿入防止突起６が設けられている。
上記構成において、端子金具Ｂを正規に端子収容室１内
に挿入すると、逆挿入防止突起６は溝４内に進入して電
気接触部B1の後端に可撓係止片２の係止部2bが係合する
（第１図）。
端子収容室１に対して端子金具Ｂ逆挿入すると、第５
図，第６図（ａ）（ｂ）に示される如くに、逆挿入防止
突起６がテーパー状案内面５に衝合して端子金具Ｂは挿
入方向と交叉する方向に変位され、逆挿入防止突起６は
強固に形成された基部2aに係合し、端子金具Ｂの逆挿入
が阻止される。
〔考案の効果〕
本考案は上記した如くに、コネクタハウジングの端子収
容室に端子金具に対する可撓係止片を設け、該可撓係止
片の基部と端子収容室の一側壁との間にテーパー状案内
面を設け、端子金具の挿入時において端子金具の一側に
設けた逆挿入防止突起を該テーパー状案内面により該端
子金具の挿入方向と交叉する方向に変位させて該基部に
係合させるものであるから、コネクタハウジングに逆挿
入防止専用の係止部を形成しないで端子金具の逆挿入を
確実に阻止し得る。

縦断面図、 第２図は同上の一部破断斜視図、 第３図は要部の断面図、 第４図は端子金具の側面図、 第５図はコネクタハウジングの横断面図で端子金具の挿
入過程を示す。 第６図（ａ）（ｂ）は同上の端子金具の挿入過程を示す
要部の斜視図、 第７図は従来例の断面図である。 Ａ…コネクタハウジング、Ｂ…端子金具、１…端子収容
室、1b…側壁、２…可撓係止片、2a…基部、５…テーパ
ー状案内面、６…逆挿入防止突起。

    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】コネクタハウジングの端子収容室に端子金
    具に対する可撓係止片を設け、該可撓係止片の基部と端
    子収容室の一側壁との間にテーパー状案内面を設け、端
    子金具の挿入時において端子金具の一側に設けた逆挿入
    防止突起を該テーパー状案内面により該端子金具の挿入
    方向と交叉する方向に変位させて該基部に係合させるこ
    とを特徴とする逆挿入防止構造を有するコネクタ。
