入する貫通穴と、この貫通穴の内径に挿入されるシャン
クの後部外周とが、互いにテ−パ状のクサビ面をもって

シャンク内部をキリ抜きして貫通する冷却水経路6が設
けてあり、キャップチップ3はシャンク2の先端に形成
された勾配の高いテ−パ状のクサビ面をもつチップ差し
込み部8に嵌め込まれ、ガンア−ムを流れる冷却水が電
極ホルダ内部のキリ穴5からシャンク2の冷却水経路6

に係合させたから、キャップチップを交換する際に、シ
ャンクとキャップチップの嵌合部を損傷しても、シャン
クを交換すれば、従来のように高価な電極ホルダ全体は
交換する必要がなく、しかも電極ホルダ全部を高価な硬
い材質のもので作ることせずに、シャンクのみ硬い材質
のものにしてコストダウンを図ることができる。また電
極の高さ(H)を低くすることができるから、狭隘な溶
接位置でもワ−クの干渉を避けることができ溶接作業性

し、シャンクの前部に形成したテ−パ状のチップ差し込
み部にキャップチップを嵌着した電極構造であって、上
記嵌合部の、電極ホルダの先端にシャンクを挿入する貫
通穴と、この貫通穴の内径に挿入されるシャンクの後部
外周とが、互いにテ−パ状のクサビ面をもって着脱可能
に係合したスポット溶接ガンの電極構造。1.
