Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a reinforcement structure of a car body, by which the rigidity of an engine compartment part is increased so as to improve vibration noise characteristics, and the fitting accuracy of a bumper and a body is improved so as to improve the appearance of the front part of the car body. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcement structure of a car body is formed by connecting a body onto a chassis frame to be connected to the inside parts of right and left fender aprons 2a, 2b disposed on both sides of the front of the body, and a side reinforcing member 8 is provided extending in the longitudinal direction while forming a closed section structure in co-operation with the fender aprons 2a, 2b. The front end part of the side reinforcing member is connected to the chassis frame through a front body mount bracket 5. The rear end part of the side reinforcing member and a connecting member joined to the member are connected to the chassis frame through a rear body mount bracket.

However, the chassis frame and the body are connected to each other via a body mount member having a body mount rubber in order to reduce the transmission of vibrations to the vehicle body. For this reason, it is necessary to secure a certain gap between the body and the bumper in order to cope with a mounting error between the body and the chassis frame and elastic deformation of the body mount rubber or the like.

With the above structure, the force input from the chassis frame to the body via the body mount bracket can be dispersed and applied to the side reinforcing member and the cross member. Therefore, the impact force acting on the radiator support panel or the like can be significantly reduced. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the plate thickness of the radiator support panel, and it is not necessary to provide a special reinforcing structure in the engine compartment.

The side reinforcing member forms a closed cross-section structure which extends in the front-rear direction in cooperation with the fender apron panel. Therefore, by supporting the bumper on the front end of the side reinforcing member, the collision load is supported by the closed cross-section structure. Therefore, the deformation of the bumper at the time of a light collision is reduced, and the same light collision performance as that of the bumper supported on the chassis frame can be secured.

Further, a front cross member is provided between the front ends of the side reinforcing members, and a front body mount bracket is provided in the vicinity of these connecting portions so that a collision load can be prevented from being applied to the side reinforcing members and the front cross member. It can be distributed and act on the members. Thereby, the light collision performance can be further improved.

Moreover, the side reinforcing member is a reinforcing member provided on the body side. Therefore, the mounting accuracy between the bumper and the body can be improved, and the gap between the bumper and the body can be set small. For this reason,
Not only can the bumper installation accuracy be greatly improved, but the appearance of the front part of the vehicle body can be greatly improved.

A front reinforcing member 11 is joined to the front end of the side reinforcing member 8 to reinforce it, and the side reinforcing member 8 and the front reinforcing member 11 are arranged in the vehicle width direction. The front cross member 12 is joined so as to be folded. Therefore, the strength in the vicinity of the front body mount bracket 5 is significantly improved. Therefore, the strength of the connecting portion with respect to the chassis frame 7 is greatly enhanced, and the durability on rough roads and the vibration and noise characteristics are further improved.

Since the side reinforcing member 8 is a reinforcing member on the body side, as shown in FIG. 3, it is possible to improve the mounting accuracy between the bumper 24 and the body. Therefore, it is possible to set a small gap between the upper edge portion of the bumper 24 and the body, and the accuracy of the bumper 24 to be mounted on the body hardly becomes a problem.
Further, since the gap between the body and the bumper 24 becomes small, the appearance of the front part of the vehicle body is greatly improved.

Moreover, the bumper 24 is connected to the front ends of the side reinforcing members 8 and 8 which cooperate with the fender apron panels 2a and 2b to form a closed cross-section structure. The front body mount bracket 5 and the front cross member 12 are joined to the front end portions of the side reinforcing members 8 and 8. Therefore, the impact force input from the bumper 24 can be dispersed and applied not only to the side reinforcing member 8 but also to the chassis frame 7 or the front cross member 12. Therefore, the light collision performance can be further enhanced.
