Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the page display system, which designates a display page or a display range to display the page, and the device using this system. CONSTITUTION:In this system, pages 201 and 204 are displayed while being shifted from one another, and the display range is designated to display the page corresponding to the designated position, and a means is provided which displays shift of pages in such form that a user can easily designate the display range. Thus, the page which is not displayed is easily designated without input of the page number when he wants to display this page. Further, he easily can designate a page without memorizing the page number if he knows data volumes of respective pages.

Or, displaying the thickness of the book as an image,
When displaying the page corresponding to the position clicked on the thickness, the screen display was made closer to the image of a real book by using the book as a metaphor, so it became difficult to specify a specific page as the number of pages increased. , It was difficult to specify because all pages are displayed in the same form.

When the number of pages is plural, the number of pages is checked (step 1003). When the number of pages is smaller than a predetermined reference value, the shift width is changed for each page and a part of the pages after the next page is changed. It is displayed so as to be shifted (step 1004).

When the number of pages is larger than the above reference value, if the pages are displayed with the same width, they cannot be displayed on the screen completely, or even if they can be displayed, the area for displaying the text is narrowed. The width is changed and displayed (step 1005).

Next, it is checked whether the user has touched the shifted display portion of the page of the display-integrated touch panel (step 1006), and if touched, the page is calculated from the coordinate position (step 1007) and the obtained page is obtained. Is displayed and the display of the shifted display portion is updated (step 1008).

When there are a plurality of pages, the above method may be always displayed, but the range of displaying the contents of the page is narrowed, so that the above display method and the normal display method can be switched by mode switching. The display method may be performed only when a page operation instruction such as a page call is issued.

Further, if the page shifting display method is displayed with the same width for all pages, the distinction between the pages is difficult to understand, and as the number of pages increases, the width assigned to each page becomes narrower. The display method may be changed by using the shifting method.

The example shown in FIG. 5 is an example in which the page area width is displayed wider for a page closer to the currently displayed page. Here, the page on which characters and cursors are displayed is the first page, 211 is the second page, 212 is 3
Pages 213, 4th page and 214 show 5th page, and the width becomes narrower as the page number increases.

In this example, as the page number increases, the area width becomes narrower with a fixed width, but it may be narrowed with a fixed ratio. This method is a convenient display method when there are few references to distant pages, such as when turning pages in order while displaying contents to display specified pages.

The example of FIG. 6 is an example in which the page width is changed and displayed in proportion to the amount of data such as the number of characters contained in each page. Here, the page on which characters and cursors are displayed is 1 Page 221 is page 2 222
Shows the 3rd page, 223 shows the 4th page, 224 shows the 5th page, 225 shows the 6th page, and the widths are different depending on the pages.

Since it is possible to easily distinguish a page in which data has been input, such as characters already entered, from a page that has not been edited or has little data in the process of creation, it is possible to reliably specify the page to be displayed.

Since the page is generally revised when the chapter changes, the final page of each chapter often has a small number of data such as characters as shown in FIG.

Therefore, the page 232 next to a narrow page such as 231 is likely to be the beginning of a chapter, and it is possible to specify which area is specified and which chapter is displayed, and specify the page. It will be a guide for the case.

The screen example 240 in FIG. 8 is an example in which the width of the page displayed immediately before is widened, and for example, the page width is 3
If the page width is set to 3, 6, 4, and 1 in order and displayed in order, as shown in FIG. 8, the page width of the 4th page displayed immediately before is displayed widest, then 6th page, and then 6th page. The page that has been displayed in the past becomes narrower, such as four pages, and finally one page.

Use of the above method is convenient, for example, when creating a document while referring to another place in the document, when performing work while alternately turning over two pages.

When each of the above-mentioned methods is used, it becomes easy to use when selecting a page having a wide display width of a target page, but conversely when it is desired to select a page having a narrow display width. May not be easy to use, or worse.

Therefore, by using the length in the vertical direction as in the screen example 250 of FIG. 9, for example, in the case of the second page, the wide portion 251 and the narrow portion 252 are set in the second page. It is possible to dispose and display the position of the wide portion in accordance with the page number so that any page can be similarly easily selected.

In FIG. 9, for example, when it is desired to display the second page, the page is turned by touching somewhere in the wide portion 251 or the narrow portion 252.

When the page number is displayed on the wide portion 261 as in the screen example 260 of FIG. 10, it becomes easier to select when the absolute page number is remembered.

As another example of the display method, there is a method as shown in the screen example 270 of FIG. 11, in which the page number currently displayed is displayed like 271, or the number of pages is large like 272. In this case, there is a method of displaying a plurality of pages collectively, or a method of changing the display form such as a color or a fill pattern to distinguish them when the pages are grouped 273.

So far, an example of a screen when the top page of data such as a document is displayed has been described. However, when there is a page ahead of the displayed page, it is as shown in FIGS. 18 and 19. Displays the previous page on the left side of the screen,

Since the various designation methods described so far can be combined with a plurality of designation methods, for example, the display example of FIG. 7 and the display example of FIG. 10 are combined and displayed. It is possible to select a designation method that is easy for the user to use.

Further, in the case of a document that does not have a clear concept of pages such as a program list and electronic mails sent and received by personal computer communication, a continuous paper image may be displayed as in the screen example 300 of FIG. 14 or the screen of FIG. It can be displayed as an image of roll paper as in Example 310.
