Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the wrong use of an unexposed or overexposed blood preserving bag for transfusion as the bag exposed to a correct dose by making it possible to visually and easily discriminate whether or not the blood preserv ing bag for transfusion (blood for transfusion) is radiation exposed or unexposed or if the exposure is within a prescribed adequate range. CONSTITUTION:The blood preserving bag for transfusion is constituted by integrally mounting a radiation exposure display body 13 having a radiation sensitive material (radiation photosensitive material) 14 which generates a color change by radiation exposure and color samples 16a, 16b corresponding to the max. value and min. value of exposure doses to a bag body 11. The 'radiation exposed' display and a check as to whether the exposure dose is within the prescribed adequate range are executed by comparing the color change of the radiation sensitive material 14 with the color samples.

2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, GVHD (Graft Versu
s Host Disease: Graft-versus-host disease) is a problem. For this prevention, an appropriate dose of X-rays should be applied to the blood before transfusion.
It is said that it is effective to irradiate radiations such as γ-rays and electron beams, for example, X-rays of 15 to 50 gray (1,500 to 5,000 rad), and it is becoming popular now. By the way, such irradiation of blood is usually performed in a state where the blood is put in a storage bag (blood storage bag for blood transfusion), but a blood storage bag for blood transfusion before irradiation and a blood transfusion after irradiation are used. There is no change in appearance with the blood storage bag for blood transfusion, and there is a risk that the blood storage bag for transfusion before irradiation may be mistakenly used as the blood storage bag for blood transfusion after irradiation.

As described above, in the conventional blood transfusion bag for blood transfusion, no apparent change is observed between before and after irradiation of the blood. There is a possibility that it may be used as a blood storage bag for transfusion after irradiation, and there is a problem that the safety against GVHD is low.

However, with this technique described above, it is confirmed that the radiation dose applied to the blood transfusion bag for transfusion is the lower limit value of the required irradiation dose, for example, 15 gray or more, but the upper limit value of the required irradiation dose, For example, it cannot be confirmed that it is less than 50 gray. It is also important to confirm that the upper limit of the required irradiation dose is not exceeded, because blood is likely to be damaged by radiation when the irradiation dose to blood is too high. The present invention provides means for confirming and displaying that the radiation dose applied to the blood transfusion bag for transfusion is between the upper limit value and the lower limit value of the required irradiation dose.

The radiation irradiation display 13 is directly attached to the surface of the bag body 11, or a pocket 18 made of a transparent, non-moisture impermeable substance is formed in the bag body 11 and inserted into the pocket 18. It is integrally attached to the bag body 11 by sealing the insertion port. When the radiation irradiation display 13 is directly attached to the surface of the bag body 11, the radiation-sensitive substance 14 is covered and protected by a transparent non-moisture permeable substance (not shown). The radiation-sensitive substance 14 of the radiation irradiation indicator 13 to be inserted into the pocket 18 may also be protected by being covered with a transparent and non-moisture permeable substance (not shown) as described above. 1
The material forming 8 need not be impermeable to moisture. Further, the radiation irradiation display body 13 is attached to both the front side and the back side (the upper surface side and the lower surface side in FIG. 1) of the bag body 11 here. Examples of the radiation-sensitive substance (radiation-sensitive substance) 14 include Japanese Patent Application No. 1-66285 (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2-245688) and Japanese Patent Application No. 1-95798.

When irradiating blood for blood transfusion for the prevention of the onset of GVHD, radiation is performed with blood for blood transfusion (not shown) in the bag body 11 of the blood preservation bag for blood transfusion of the present invention. Then, X-rays are emitted from above (or below) in FIG. When the bag main body 11 containing blood for transfusion is irradiated with a required irradiation dose of radiation, the radiation irradiation display 13 integrally attached to the bag main body 11 is also inevitably irradiated with radiation. Therefore, the radiation irradiation display 13
A color change occurs in the radiation-sensitive substance 14, and it is displayed that the blood transfusion bag for blood transfusion (blood for transfusion) has been irradiated.

At this time, since the radiation-sensitive substance 14 causes a color change corresponding to the irradiation dose, this color change is compared with the lower limit color sample 16a and the upper limit color sample 16b, and the color change between the two color samples is compared. If it is a color, the radiation dose to the blood-storing bag body 11 for transfusion is normal, and if it is the color outside both color samples, it is determined that there is an excess or deficiency in the radiation dose, and the amount is insufficient. Re-irradiation of radiation will be performed on the above items, and disposal of the excess will be performed.

As in the present invention, since the radiation irradiation indicator 13 is integrally attached to the bag body 11 and is irradiated with radiation, the blood storage bag for transfusion before irradiation is erroneously transfused after irradiation. It can be reliably prevented from being used as a blood storage bag for use, and it is possible to identify when there is an excess or deficiency of the irradiation dose, and to take a dire measure against them.

In the above embodiment, the radiation irradiation display 1 is used.
3 are attached to both the upper surface side and the lower surface side of the bag body 11 in FIG. 1, but only one of them may be attached.
It may be embedded in the peripheral portion of. When attached to both the upper surface side and the lower surface side of the bag body 11, the upper surface side senses the radiation irradiation dose, and the lower surface side senses the radiation transmission dose. Since the radiation is attenuated by the permeation of the bag body 11 containing blood for transfusion, it is necessary to attach the radiation irradiation indicator 13 to both the upper surface side and the lower surface side of the bag body 11 as in the above-mentioned embodiment. This is useful for judging whether the blood has been effectively applied to the whole blood in the main body 11. Further, when the radiation irradiation indicator 13 is embedded in the peripheral portion of the bag body 11 as described above, when the blood storage bags for blood transfusion are stacked in several stages and the radiation is similarly applied, the radiation irradiation is performed as in the above-described embodiment. The irradiation indicator 13 may be attached to the upper and lower surfaces of the bag body 11 as an alternative.

In the second embodiment, the radiation irradiation display 13a
Is constructed as shown in FIG. A radiation-sensitive substance 14 and a radiation-sensitive substance 19 with a filter, which are formed in a disk shape, and color samples 15 and 16 of the radiation-sensitive substance before and after irradiation with radiation are arranged on a mount 17. The lower limit color sample 16a is used as the color sample after irradiation with radiation. The radiation-sensitive substance with filter 19 has transparent and radiation-absorbing filters 20 attached in front of and behind the radiation-sensitive substance 14. Lead glass or the like may be used as the filter 20. The purpose of using this filter 20 is to appropriately reduce the radiation dose received by the radiation-sensitive substance 14. In this case, when the radiation irradiation of 50 Gy is performed, it is necessary to reduce this to 15 Gy (to a dose of 30%). . When selecting a filter, the material (composition) and thickness of the filter must be determined in consideration of the radiation quality.

The mounting position of the pocket 18 is the bag body 11
It is necessary to dispose the radiation-sensitive substance with filter 19 at a position where it does not overlap with blood. This is because the radiation-sensitive substance with filter 19 absorbs radiation, and the radiation dose received by the blood on the back side thereof is reduced, which is to prevent it. In the case of this embodiment, since only one radiation irradiation indicator is required, the pocket 18
Only one needs to be attached.

Also in the case of this embodiment, as in the case of the first embodiment of the present invention, it may be embedded in the peripheral portion of the bag body 11, and further the radiation-sensitive substance 14 and the radiation-sensitive substance with filter 19 may be used. The color samples 15 and 16 may be provided on separate mounts and attached to the blood bag body 11 for blood transfusion. When the main body 11 of the blood transfusion bag of the present embodiment is irradiated with radiation at a necessary irradiation dose, the radiation-sensitive substance 14 and the radiation-sensitive substance with filter 19 of the radiation irradiation display 13a change color. The color change at this time is the lower limit color sample 16a in the radiation sensitive substance 14.
Radiation-sensitive substance with filter 1
In No. 9, the color change occurs between the unirradiated color sample 15 and the lower limit color sample 16a. Discoloration of the radiation-sensitive substance 14 is an unirradiated color sample 1
5 and the lower limit color sample 16a, the radiation irradiation is insufficient, and the radiation-sensitive substance with filter 19
If the discoloration is stronger than the lower limit color swatch 16a, it means that the radiation irradiation is excessive, so that it is necessary to appropriately treat each case as described in the first embodiment of the present invention.

As described above, according to the present invention, a blood storage bag for blood transfusion can be obtained by integrally attaching a radiation irradiation indicator equipped with a radiation-sensitive substance that changes color upon irradiation with radiation to the bag body. Comparing the color change of the radiation-sensitive substance and the color sample, since it is configured to determine whether the radiation-exposed indication and the radiation irradiation amount are within the required limit by the color change of the radiation-sensitive substance. Thus, it is possible to easily discriminate between the blood storage bag for transfusion that has been irradiated and the blood storage bag that has not been irradiated, and to confirm that the radiation dose is within a predetermined appropriate range. As a result, the blood storage bag for transfusion before irradiation is prevented from being mistakenly used as a blood storage bag for transfusion after irradiation, and waste blood is transfused by using the blood for transfusion that is overly irradiated. Since it does not occur, the safety against GVHD can be improved.
