2. Description of the Related Art It has been known that human sweat attracts mosquitoes, but it is difficult to produce human sweat itself in large quantities and put it into practical use. Therefore, studies have been conducted on a component having a mosquito attracting activity in human sweat, and it has been revealed so far that (+)-lactic acid is one of the mosquito attracting active components.

However, the mosquito attracting activity of lactic acid is not practically sufficient, and a trap for trapping mosquitoes (a trap for mosquito control or a trap for mosquito density survey). There is a demand for a more active mosquito attractant for use in such purposes.

[Means for Solving the Problems] As a result of extensive studies to find a highly active mosquito attractant, the present inventors have found that the use of a mixture of lactic acid and methyl lactate as an active ingredient results in extremely high attraction of mosquitoes. The inventors have found that an effect is recognized and have reached the present invention.

EXAMPLES Next, the present invention will be described more specifically by way of examples. Test Example: 30 × 25 10 mating females of Aedes aegypti, 3-5 days old
Place in a 28 cm 3 cage and place a black glass tube (1.5 cm in diameter, 4 cm in length) on one end of which the test sample shown in Table 1 below is dissolved in an appropriate amount of acetone, uniformly coated, and air dried. A control black glass tube on which human sweat was sufficiently attached by gripping the edge for 30 minutes was placed, and the cumulative number of mosquitoes contacting the black glass tube was observed for 30 minutes. The evaluation was expressed by the "attraction ratio" obtained by the following formula.
