Abstract

PURPOSE:To save manpower by providing an electromagnetic driving means which drives a magnetic head upward and downward in directions attaching and detaching to and from the signal recording surface of a magneto-optical disk according to the loading operation of the magneto-optical disk. CONSTITUTION:Such a current as to magnetize a yoke 40 in a direction where a permanent magnet 33 is attracted flows for a specified period of time in a coil 4 provided in a disk carriage 15 in which the magneto-optical disk 8 is housed when this carriage is inserted into an outer housing from a front surface panel. Consequently, a head mounting member 31 is turned in a loading direction. The energization to the coil 41 is stopped where a head mounting member 31 comes into contact with a load request stopper 39. The permanent magnet 33 and the yoke 40 are then put into the state of the extreme proximity and, therefore, the loading state is maintained by the large attraction force acting between the magnet and the yoke even if the energization to the coil 41 is stopped.

2. Description of the Related Art For example, a loading mechanism for loading a magneto-optical disk into a disk table by retracting a disk cartridge in which a magneto-optical disk is rotatably housed and dropping the disk cartridge to the disk table side is provided. In the recording / reproducing apparatus having the above, when the disk cartridge is pulled into the apparatus main body, the magnetic head is retracted so that the disk cartridge does not come into contact with the magnetic head built in the apparatus main body (hereinafter, this is called an unloading state). ), When the magneto-optical disk is mounted on the disk table, the head elevating mechanism is in a position where the magnetic head contacts the magneto-optical disk or faces the magneto-optical disk with a minute gap (hereinafter referred to as a loading state). It is provided.

In such an electromagnetic actuator,
By changing the direction of energization of the coil 41, the yoke 40 magnetically attracts the permanent magnet 33 and the slider 16 is moved.
While contacting or approaching the signal recording surface of the magneto-optical disk 8, the yoke 40 repels the permanent magnet 33 to separate the slider 16 from the signal recording surface of the magneto-optical disk 8. At this time, when the slider 16 is brought into contact with or close to the signal recording surface of the magneto-optical disk 8 by the electromagnetic actuator to be in a loading state, the head mounting member 31 is mounted on the tip side of the carriage 15 for loading. When the head mounting member 31 comes into contact with the load stopper 39, the energization of the coil 41 is stopped. Then, the permanent magnet 33 and the yoke 40 are brought into a state of being extremely close to each other, so that the large attracting force acting between them causes the loading state to be maintained even when the energization of the coil 41 is stopped. As a result, the slider 16 at the tip of the head supporting arm 32 supported by the head mounting member 31 is brought into contact with or brought close to the signal recording surface of the magneto-optical disk 8.

As described above, in the recording and / or reproducing apparatus of this embodiment, by changing the direction of the current flowing through the coil 41, the loading / unloading state of the magnetic head with respect to the magneto-optical disk 8 can be selectively performed. This can be done, and moreover, these states can be maintained by energizing only during the loading and unloading operations, and significant power saving can be achieved. In addition, the carriage 15
Since it has an actuator for loading and unloading the magnetic head, it is possible to perform loading and unloading at any position within the seek range. Further, when the flying head is used, it becomes easy to deal with the unloading operation for avoiding the contact between the slider 16 and the disk surface of the magneto-optical disk 8 at the time of power failure.

Further, in the recording and / or reproducing apparatus of this embodiment, since the coil 41 is energized in a very short time, the back electromotive force of the spindle motor 10 rotating due to inertia at the time of power interruption such as power failure. The unloading operation can be easily performed by using electric power or the electric power charged in the capacitor or the like. Further, since there is no contacting or sliding portion other than the linear motion guide mechanism of the carriage 15 in the unloading state, the seek performance is not deteriorated, and the reading of the ROM disk can be performed in the unloading state. Become.
Therefore, it is possible to eliminate the need for a protective coat or the like on the magneto-optical disk 8 and to provide an inexpensive ROM disk.

Embodiment 2 The magneto-optical disk recording and / or reproducing apparatus of this embodiment has substantially the same configuration as the apparatus of the previous embodiment, but only the electromagnetic drive means is different. Therefore, the electromagnetic drive means will be described in detail below. The magnetic head is incorporated in the slider 57, and in order to ensure stability during flying, a head support that applies a biasing force of about several grams to 10 grams to the signal recording surface of the magneto-optical disk 50 in the vertical direction during loading. It is attached to the tip of the arm 58. The other end of the head support arm 58 has a slider 5 provided at its tip.
The head mounting member 59 is rotatably supported by the carriage 56 via a rotary shaft 61 so that the optical disk 7 can be separated from the signal recording surface of the magneto-optical disk 50 in the vertical direction.

As described above, in the recording and / or reproducing apparatus for the magneto-optical disk according to the present embodiment, the direction of the current flowing through the coil 63 is changed to change the direction of the light from the magnetic head, as in the apparatus according to the first embodiment. The loading and unloading states of the magnetic disk 8 can be selectively performed, and these states can be maintained by energizing only during the loading and unloading operations, and significant power saving can be achieved. In particular, in the device of this example, since the attraction and repulsive force due to the energization of the coil 63 are used efficiently, it is not necessary to resist the urging force of the tension spring 35, and therefore power consumption can be further reduced.
