And, such a hollow fiber membrane module 1
As a method of inspecting the leak of No. 00, there is a conventional method of inspecting the leak with an inspection device shown in FIG. 4 (see Japanese Patent Publication No. 2-14084). Therefore, a method of inspecting the hollow fiber membrane module 100 for leaks will be described with reference to FIG. 5, which is a schematic view of the inspection apparatus shown in FIG.

First, a simplified inspection apparatus 200 of FIG. 5 will be described. In this inspection device 200, the hollow fiber membrane module 100 is roughly held by a holder 201 on the hollow fiber membrane opening end surface 104 via an O-ring 202.
Therefore, the hollow fiber membrane opening end surface 104 is completely shielded from the outside air by the action of the O-ring 202 provided in the holder 201. Then, the vacuum pump 20 as a suction means and a grip portion of the hollow fiber membrane opening end surface 104 of the holder 201.
The particle counter 204, which incorporates 3 and measures the number of fine particles of various particle sizes, is in communication via a pipe 205.

Then, the method of inspecting the leak of the hollow fiber membrane module 100 by this inspection apparatus 200 is such that the hollow fiber membrane open end surface 104 side is depressurized and suctioned, and each hollow fiber membrane on the opposite side of the hollow fiber membrane open end surface 104. A gas K containing fine particles of a predetermined size is made to flow into the hollow fiber membrane module 100 from the outer surface side of 102, and the filtered air 206, which is the filtered gas sucked from the hollow fiber membrane opening end surface 104, is transferred to the particle counter 204. It passes through a sensor 207 inside and counts the number of fine particles of a predetermined size in the air 206.

That is, the air is filtered through the hollow fiber membrane 102.
When the air 206 is discharged from the hollow fiber membrane opening end surface 104, the number of fine particles passing through the defective portions of the hollow fiber membrane 102 and the hollow fiber membrane module 100 is measured to determine the presence or absence of the defective portion. The judgment is made to inspect for leaks in the hollow fiber membrane module.

However, in the case of the conventional leak inspection method of the hollow fiber membrane module 100 described above, the hollow fiber membrane is sucked under reduced pressure from the hollow fiber membrane opening end face 104 side by the particle counter 204. 102,
Since the number of particles passing through the defective portion of the hollow fiber membrane module 100 is measured, if the defective portion of the hollow fiber membrane 102 is in the bundle of the hollow fiber membranes 102, a pinhole (defective portion) is generated. The side surface of the other hollow fiber membrane 102 is blocked, or the hollow fiber membrane 102 having a defect is crushed in the middle,
Further, as shown in FIG. 7, there is a defect that a defective portion in a portion where the hollow fiber membranes are in contact with each other (arrow A) cannot be detected.

Further, as shown in FIG. 6, when a location where the hollow fiber membranes 102 are dense (arrow B) occurs in the way of bundling the hollow fiber membranes 102, it becomes difficult for the gas to pass through that portion, so that the gas drifts ( Arrow C) occurs. As a result, the amount of gas flowing into the defective portion is reduced, and it may be caught as a defect smaller than the original defect.

In order to achieve the above object, in the present invention, a bundle of a large number of hollow fiber membranes is inserted into a case, and each hollow fiber membrane is opened at the open end of the case. In the hollow fiber membrane module in which the gaps between the hollow fiber membranes and the gaps between the hollow fiber membranes and the case were sealed and fixed with a potting agent, a gas containing fine particles of a predetermined size was passed through the hollow fiber membranes and passed through the hollow fiber membranes. In the method for inspecting the leak of a hollow fiber membrane module by measuring the number of fine particles of a predetermined size, the gas is caused to flow into the hollow part of each hollow fiber membrane from the opening end face side of the hollow fiber membrane, and each hollow fiber Letting gas flow out through the membrane wall of the membrane,
The gas is guided to the outside of the case while maintaining a space between the hollow fiber membranes by the outflow pressure of the gas, and the number of passing fine particles of a predetermined size is measured.

In the leak inspection method for the hollow fiber membrane module having the above structure, the gas containing fine particles of a predetermined size is introduced into the hollow portion of each hollow fiber membrane from the opening end face side of the hollow fiber membrane, By letting gas flow out through the membrane wall of each hollow fiber membrane, even if, for example, the hollow fiber membranes are in contact with each other, due to the outflow pressure when the gas flows out through the membrane wall of the hollow fiber membranes Since the space between the hollow fiber membranes in the existing portion is opened, the defective portion is not blocked.

Further, even if there is a dense place due to the way the hollow fiber membranes are bundled, the outflow pressure causes a gap between the hollow fiber membranes in the dense portion, so that a drift occurs as in the prior art. Disappear. This makes the gas flow smooth and does not catch the original defect as a small defect.

First, when air, which is a gas, is pressurized and flowed into the hollow fiber membrane module 1 from the hollow fiber membrane opening end face 6 side by a pressurizing means such as a pressurizing pump, the air in each hollow fiber membrane 2 is discharged. It flows into the hollow portion 7 through the opening of the terminal. The inflowing air flows out from the inside of the hollow portion 7 through the membrane wall 8 having fine holes, the outflow pressure of the air opens the spaces between the hollow fiber membranes 2, and the air is opened on the other side of the case 4. Guided to Part 9. At this time, the fine particles contained in the air are filtered by the fine pores in the membrane wall 8 of the hollow fiber membrane 2, and the fine particles larger than the outer diameter of the fine pores remain inside the hollow portion 7, and only clean air is contained in the case 4. It flows out of the case 4 through the other opening 9.

However, when the hollow fiber membrane 2 has a defective portion such as a pinhole, since the hollow fiber membrane 2 is pressurized from inside the hollow portion 7, the defective portion such as a pinhole spreads and is constant. Air containing fine particles of a predetermined size passes through a defective portion such as a pinhole and the other opening 9 of the case 4
Is leaked out of the case 4. In addition, when there is a gap between the cured potting agent 5 and the hollow fiber membrane 2, between the cured potting agent 5 and the case 4, or when there are fine holes penetrating the layer of the cured potting agent 5, etc. In the same manner, in the same manner, the air containing fine particles of a predetermined size flows out of the case 4 through the other opening 9 of the case 4 through the gaps and holes.

In this way, the other opening 9 of the case 4 is formed.
When the air that has flowed out from the particle counter that measures the number of particles of various particle sizes is measured, and if there is a leak and the air that has flowed out contains particles of a predetermined size, then by a particle counter, The particle size and number of microparticles of a given size are measured. Since the particle size of the fine particles having a predetermined size measured at this time is the same as the size of the defective portion such as the pinhole, the size of the defective portion such as the pinhole can be known.

On the other hand, if no leak exists,
The number of fine particles measured by the particle counter is only fine particles having a particle size that passes through the fine pores of the membrane wall 8 of the hollow fiber membrane 2, and when the fine pores of the membrane wall 8 of the hollow fiber membrane 2 are sufficiently small. The number of fine particles to be measured is 0 because only fine particles having the detection sensitivity of the particle counter or less flow out. Therefore, the presence or absence of leak in the hollow fiber membrane module can be easily determined by counting the particle counter.

In the above-described leak inspection method of the present invention, air is caused to flow into the hollow portion 7 of each hollow fiber membrane 2 from the hollow fiber membrane opening end face 6 side, and air is fed into the membrane wall of each hollow fiber membrane 2. 8 through each hollow fiber membrane 2 by the outflow pressure of the air.
The air is guided to the outside of the case 4 through the other opening 9 of the case 4 with a space between them, and the number of fine particles such as dust contained in the filtered air is measured. Therefore, a defective portion such as a pinhole of the hollow fiber membrane 2 has a hollow fiber membrane bundle 3
The air flows out of the hollow portion 7 of the hollow fiber membrane 2 through the membrane wall 8 even if the side surface of the other hollow fiber membrane 2 occupies a defective portion such as a pinhole. Due to the outflow pressure at this time, a gap is formed between the hollow fiber membrane 2 having a defective portion and another hollow fiber membrane 2 which covers the defective portion, so that the defective portion is formed on the side surface of the other hollow fiber membrane 2. Blocking can be prevented, and the presence / absence of a defective portion can be reliably determined.

Further, even if the hollow fiber membrane 2 having a defective portion is crushed midway, since the air flows into the hollow portion 7 of the hollow fiber membrane 2, the shape of the crushed portion is formed by the inflow pressure. Can be undone. Therefore, the air passes through the defective portion, and the presence or absence of the defective portion can be reliably determined.

Further, as shown in FIG. 7, even if the hollow fiber membranes 2 are in contact with each other (the arrow A in the figure) having a defective portion, the portion contacted by the outflow pressure described above. Since the space between the hollow fiber membranes 2 is opened, it is possible to reliably determine the presence or absence of a defective portion.

Further, as shown in FIG. 6, even if the hollow fiber membranes 2 are bundled in a dense place so that it is difficult to ventilate them, the hollow fiber membranes 2 in the dense portion are caused by the outflow pressure.
The air gap is not generated unlike the prior art because the space is provided to facilitate ventilation. Therefore, the outflow of air through the defective portion in the potting portion 10 or the like will not be reduced, and it will not be caught as a defect smaller than the original defect. Therefore, it is possible to reliably determine the exact size of the defective portion.

From the above, it is possible to improve the reliability of the leak inspection (the leaking hollow fiber membrane module has a numerical value of the particle counter which is about two digits higher than that of a normal hollow fiber membrane module).

In the leak inspection method, a pressure pump is used when air is introduced into the hollow portion 7 of each hollow fiber membrane 2. However, since the particle counter is equipped with suction means, it is added. Air may be introduced into the hollow portion 7 without using a pressure pump.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY The present invention has the above-mentioned structure and action, and allows a gas containing fine particles of a predetermined size to flow into the hollow portion of each hollow fiber membrane from the open end face side of the hollow fiber membrane to generate gas. The hollow fiber membranes are allowed to flow out through the membrane wall, and the gas outflow pressure guides the gas out of the case while maintaining a space between the hollow fiber membranes, and the gas contained in the passed gas has a predetermined size. Since the number of fine particles is measured, even if the hollow fiber membranes have defective portions such as pinholes in their contacting portions, for example, in the contacting portion due to the above-mentioned outflow pressure, Since there is a space between the hollow fiber membranes, it is possible to reliably determine the presence or absence of a defective portion.

Even if the hollow fiber membranes are tightly packed due to the way they are bundled and it is difficult to ventilate them, the outflow pressure allows the hollow fiber membranes in the dense portions to be spaced apart easily to ventilate. Therefore, the drift does not occur unlike the prior art. Therefore, outflow of gas through defective parts such as potting parts will not decrease,
It will not be caught as a defect smaller than the original defect. Therefore, it is possible to reliably determine the exact size of the defective portion.
